ANTS Announce Line-Up for Cocoricò Halloween Party w/ Andrea Oliva, Davide Squillance, Steve Lawler & Timo Maas

From colony to clubbing community, with conspirators in cities from Miami through London to Dubai, ANTS’ next irresistible invasion will see them in their new haunt for ‘All Hallows Eve’: the iconic Cocoricó of Italy. Casting their seductive shadow over another sacred space of the international dance scene, the crew’s resident ANTS-tigators will submerse the dancing dead this 31st October in the sunless depths of the best tech-house.

Providing the most serious sonics for the darkest hour of the party calendar, ANTS proponent Andrea Oliva spins his standard-setting, ever-spectral set. The drama continues with the same decadent supply of captivatingly possessive dance from Davide Squillace, igniting an impassioned atmosphere suffuse with every shade of ANTS. Bewitching beats designed to fill even the biggest void and penetrate every body, Steve Lawler brings an award-winning, very much on brand style. No less officially recognized and respected, Timo Maas’ ear for orchestration rounds off a spell-binding lineup – one bound to entrance every creature of the night.

Listen back to Andrea Oliva’s Essential Mix recorded live for ANTS @ Ushuaia

Saturday 23rd July’s edition of the acclaimed Essential Mix series came courtesy of Andrea Oliva – with a mix recorded live from one of Ibiza’s premiere weekly parties, ANTS at Ushuaia.

Andrea is the flagship headliner of ANTS, so his sets are now perfectly honed to suit the crowd, timings and atmosphere of the party. He’s a prolific and versatile producer, with his recent EP on Loco Dice’s Desolat displaying his skill for tougher-edged dancefloor-ready tech. ‘Elephant’ off the EP provides one of the highlights of the mix, as does his forthcoming track ‘Vermona’, set to be released on the Martinez Brothers’ Cuttin Headz label at the end of September.

This skill for creating dancefloor-ready releases is no doubt influenced by his time DJing at some of the most respected clubs in the world – alongside his headline slots at ANTS in Ibiza, this season he’ll also be one of the seven all-night residents to take over the Space terrace for this year’s Elrowcity and will be making his Music On debut at Amnesia. Closer to home, you can catch the Swiss-born DJ at Creamfields and Fabric this summer in the UK.

Perfectly timed to celebrate the peak of Ibiza season, Andrea Oliva’s Essential Mix is filled with his own diverse productions, those of friends and collaborators, as well as a few surprises and lesser-known cuts. It also comes just ahead of Andrea’s mix compilation alongside Essential Mix host Pete Tong – ‘All Gone Pete Tong Ibiza 2016’ is out on the 19th August.

ANTS prepare for debut club takeover in Barcelona with Nicole Moudaber & Steve Lawler at Florida 135 on Saturday 30th July

In their first show on the mainland of Spain, the ANTS colony is imported from Ibiza into Florida 135 of Fraga this Saturday 30th July. Bringing strength in numbers with a core of brand stars, the now global crew are set to ensnare this famous venue under master of moods Steve Lawler. Magnifying the effects of a headline set from an Ibizan hero, will be the darkly seductive aesthetic so synonymous with the party; one in which Lawler’s sharp and sensual selection is well homed.

The atmosphere is augmented by the no-nonsense dance of Nicole Moudaber; unadulterated, underground, and certainly no longer “underrated” as Carl Cox saw her in 2009. Much of this acclaim can be attributed to ANTS, themselves no longer local as they spread into fresh territory with their fostered talent. Francisco Allendes of Chile likewise reflects the sentiments of ANTS after rising on the White Isle, reflecting its style in spell-binding music. This supported by Florida 135 resident Andres Campo, earning a name of his own for crafting potent techno that will be the perfect supplement to the night!

Route 94 reveals first original music in 2 years via fabric blog

Route 94 is back with his first original material in almost 2 years. Ahead of his gig at fabric on the 11th June, the producer is releasing a 3-track EP that will be available to download for free from the tastemaking London club’s website.

‘A Brand New Day’, ‘Caramel’ and ‘Take Off’ are each understated, late-night groovers, with the former two featuring seductive vocal samples and the latter featuring a quirky combination of off-key piano chords over skipping hi-hats. These productions are no doubt informed by the amount of time he’s spent touring some of the most respected clubs, festivals and residencies in the world.

It’s just a taste of big things to come for Rowan Jones, who has been busy working hard in the studio and now has a series of new tracks in the pipeline. He might be most well-known for his 2014 hit ‘My Love’, but Route has always been an underground DJ and producer first and foremost; his ‘Misunderstood’ EP on Leftroom was also a highlight of the same year. He’s now looking forward to a busy summer season; after his gig at fabric on the 11th June, Rowan’s tour schedule takes in the ANTS, Paradise and Warriors parties in Ibiza, Strafwerk and Verknipt festivals in Amsterdam, and Creamfields and South West Four in the UK.

Los Suruba continue their rise to prominence with a remix of ‘Principles’ by You & Oui

Following the release of their celebratory remix package of their breakthrough track ‘Fine’ last month, dynamic duo Los Suruba continue their rise to prominence with a remix of ‘Principles’ by You & Oui – a new project from Sincopat’s head honcho AFFKT and Darlyn Vlys – which is set for release on 2nd March via Sincopat itself.

Los Suruba grab the original by the throat, adding their trademark techno-heavy underground style to an already killer track. Driving beats and snapping high hats give way to a menacing bass stem and brooding vocal loops taking the original track in a dark atmospheric direction that will shake the dance floor to the core.

After a successful 2014 that saw the duo make a major impact on the Ibiza club scene with their second ANTS residency, as well as much lauded releases of ‘Fine’ and ‘Thunderfuck’, Los Suruba have big plans for 2015. Having smashed the BPM festival in Mexico with their no-holds-barred set which has already garnered 10,000 plays on Soundcloud, Los Suruba have also taken their unique brand of ‘surubing’ to London, Italy and Spain – with their remix of ‘Principles’ equipping them with strong ammunition for the dance floor.

Los Suruba release ‘Thunderfuck’ today!

Fresh from their summer residency at ANTS in Ibiza, Los Suruba are closing the year with the same gusto as they started in the shape of their latest offering, ‘Thunderfuck’, which is now available via Beatport.

Fans of the Spanish duo will already be familiar with this polished slice of tech house, ‘Thunderfuck’ has been a staple addition to the Los Suruba’s set over the summer and from the onset it’s clear why. A driving bass stem gives way to clattering drums complete with a menacing vocal loop, giving the whole track a dark atmospheric direction. A true assault on the dance floor, ‘Thunderfuck’ displays Los Suruba at the top of their game with no signs of slowing down.

It’s been a busy summer for the pair, not only smashing their residency at Ushuaia’s biggest tech house night ANTS, but also an added tour of their homeland in October as well as releases of ‘Fine’, ‘Spanish Pantalones’ and ‘Brutus’ earlier in the year. Their home-grown imprint Suruba Records has continued it’s run of impressive releases as well as it’s much lauded mix series, and with ‘Thunderfuck’, it’s clear Los Suruba are not content to rest on their laurels, instead continuing to show they are true dance heavyweights with plenty more to come.
