Klahr drops eclectic debut Axtone EP, ‘Dreaming Wild’

Klahr – Dreaming Wild

Shapov releases ‘Four Corners EP’ // Out Now on Axtone Records

Russian starlet Shapov follows up his Axwell collaboration ‘Belong’ with a 4 track EP, titled ‘Four Corners’. Showcasing both his talent and his taste for bold electronic music, the EP will be released via Axtone Records on the 10th February.

Spearheading the EP is ‘Breathing Deeper’ – a euphoric ballad produced in collaboration with MEG | NERAK. The emotionally charged vocal track has been gathering online hype since its debut during MMW in the spring, and finally gets its release via the EP.

Moving through the EP – ‘More Than Love’ sees Shapov strip things back for yet another anthemic track, highlighting the talent of UK duo Rookies; whilst fan favourite ‘Some People’ with its catchy vocals and guitar-led melody has proven to be a hit throughout the festival circuit.

‘Analogue Soul’ rounds off the EP; combining intensely charged synths throughout the intro and a signature Shapov drop that’s full of bounce and energy, completing the four very different corners of the EP.

About Shapov
Signed to Axwell’s Axtone Records, Shapov has been busy as of late with a string of heavily supported releases including his huge single with Axwell himself ‘Belong’ which received over 11 million streams on Spotify. His work has been supported by esteemed tastemakers including Axwell^Ingrosso, Diplo, Tiesto and Alesso. Tirelessly touring the world last year, Shapov’s key gigs include Tomorrowland, Ushuaia and Miami Music Week and has a tour across Asia and Australia already scheduled for this year.

Axwell & Shapov Unveil Winner For ‘Belong’ Music Video Competition

Following the success of their newest release ‘Belong’ via Axtone/Ultra worldwide, Swedish icon Axwell and Axtone starlet Shapov are proud to be teaming up with media titan Revolt.TVto reveal the winner of their prestigious ‘Belong’ global music video competition.

Starring in the video is Panchito, an adorable white maltese who embarks on an epic quest to return to his loving home. The journey isn’t without perils however – Panchito finds himself wandering the wilderness, battling the harsh elements, and trekking across terrain more suitable for his distant cousin, the wolf. But the determined canine perseveres, finding himself in the loving arms of his owners at the culmination of the video. With stunning scenic backdrops, aerial drone views, and a fair amount of stellar cinematography, video director Jose Javy Ferrer’s submission stole the hearts of Axwell & crew upon first review, securing Panchito and Ferrer’s place among the Axtone legacy.

“We are so excited about winning this competition, it’s super that we are all the way in the other side of the world and still connected for this one project in the most unusual way. My family and I are so proud of my doggy (Panchito) as he did an amazing job in his first feature role as an actor. Now he deserves a nice vacation!” – Ferrer

A month ago, video directors, visual artists, and fans were given the unique opportunity to submit their video creations for Axwell & Shapov’s latest collaboration, “Belong.” Videos were allowed to be of any nature at all and the competition wasn’t limited to professional directors – everyone was encouraged to show off their skills and personality. With the first prize winner winning the grand prize + an endorsement from Axtone, and the second + third prize winners also taking home prizes, the competition saw entries skyrocket into the thousands, further magnifying how ground-breaking this opportunity could be for emerging visual artists.

About Axwell
With a decade of unflinching influence on electronic music, Four-time Grammy nominated Axwell is renowned for bringing a melodic flare to the house music world. The Swedish icon has evolved into a festival favourite and sought after production force with an arsenal of IDs under his belt, not least as one half of Axwell Λ Ingrosso. Axwell’s is a legacy that has both defined and outgrown the club floor on numerous occasions. His solo productions have consistently found a place in the commercial charts as well as the dance floor; and on the live stage, be it Madison Square Garden, Coachella or V Festival, Axwell has further managed to take his musical output to the masses without ever neglecting the club floor or his ability to deliver.

About Shapov
While he may be a new name to the dance music community, Russian artist Shapov has paid his dues and rightly established himself under his previous moniker, ‘Hard Rock Sofa’. Since signing to Axtone Records, Shapov has been busy with a string of heavily-supported releases, showcasing his genre-defying style. Along with a string of EPs, and singles, Shapov has lent his remixing hand to the likes of CamelPhat and Afrojack, cleverly combining classic and forward-thinking elements that have come to form the “Shapov sound.”

Refune Music presents new track ‘Rocking’ from Russian duo M.E.G. & N.E.R.A.K.

The latest release on Sebastian Ingrosso’s respected Refune Music comes courtesy of M.E.G. & N.E.R.A.K., a Russian duo who are quickly gaining themselves a rapidly expanding international fanbase. Bonding over their love of diverse styles of dance music to come together as an act in 2012, one of the duo’s most recent releases, ‘Concorde’, was premiered by Afrojack at Ultra Miami and quickly became one of the most-played tracks of the spring festival season. Picking up so much attention from the best in the business also led to them recently releasing a full EP on Axtone Records, ‘Everybody’.

The pair will be hoping to repeat the act with this new track – ‘Rocking’ is a stomping slice of electro, built for stadium-sized crowds; it’s already received plenty of support from Alesso. A robotic vocal, a driving bassline and dramatic synths come together in waves of climactic build-ups and earth shattering drops – the perfect formula for a festival smash.

The duo of Axwell /\ Ingrosso, former members of the legendary Swedish House Mafia, has been signed to an exclusive contract with Universal Music Group, to release new music and content in 2014 on Def Jam Recordings in the U.S. and Virgin/EMI in the UK, with their debut album coming in early 2015. This will be the first official album from Axwell /\ Ingrosso, whose previous band, Swedish House Mafia never released a full studio album, despite selling over 10 million records worldwide. (Two compilation albums were issued in 2010 (Until One) and 2012 (Until Now), on Virgin Records/Astralwerks.)

“We are proud at Def Jam to have Axwell /\ Ingrosso choose us to be their label home. Their music is forward, innovative, invigorating and boundless,” said Steve Bartels, CEO of Def Jam Recordings. “Def Jam has the artistry and energy of DJ culture within its pedigree, right there in our logo. This is a significant moment for all of us as at Def Jam.”

Swedish House Mafia was renowned for selling out Madison Square Garden in nine minutes for their concert in 2012, without any album in the marketplace. The group disbanded in March 2013, after playing their final sets that month at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami. Emerging as a duo, Axwell /\ Ingrosso premiered new music with influential BBC radio personality Zane Lowe in late March 2014. “I was lucky enough to go down to the studio this week, listen to a whole bunch of songs. It’s going to be incredible,” Lowe raved on air. “It’s a whole new era for these two.”
In early June, the band landed back in the US for their first headlining gigs atGovernors Ball in New York City, followed by Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. The Los Angeles Times heralded their set: “Freed from the expectations of being in one of the globe’s biggest bands, the duo’s set was simultaneously more challenging and more playful than anything their previous project could do…Axwell /\ Ingrosso’s set found them working out different ideas about tension and song craft…One new tune, which fans have given a working title of “On My Way,” felt like it had pop-hit potential with an immediately memorable chorus. But the long, well-spaced drum builds and crowd-teasing pacing felt entirely new for the duo.”

Axwell /\ Ingrosso (with third member Steve Angello) began collaborating in 2007 as Swedish House Mafia, which became a multi-platinum household name success across Europe by the end of 2010, with “One” featur¬¬ing Pharrell, and “Miami 2 Ibiza” vs. Tinie Tempah. “Save the World” extended their run into 2011, along with “Antidote” vs. Knife Party.

“Don’t You Worry” featuring John Martin was SHM’s breakthrough hit in 2012, #1 in the UK, Sweden and Australia, and Top 10 in most territories around the world, including the U.S., where it was certified RIAA triple-platinum. It was in late-2012 when SHM announced they would disband at the end of their “One Last Tour” in 2013, paving the way for this year’s emergence of Axwell /\ Ingrosso.
