Showtek & Brooks feat. Natalie Major – “On Our Own”

AMSTERDAM, March 31st, 2017 – Following the success of ‘Believer’ (with Major Lazer), Showtek have put out another super-hit-to-be. Made in collaboration with Brooks and American singer-songwriter Natalie Major, ‘On Our Own’ saw its release on Skink today.

A song that excels across the board, ‘On Our Own’ makes perfect use of its hyper-catchy vocals and inspiring lyrics to deliver a message worth dancing to. With the addition of its hooking rhythms and its larger-than-life melody and synths, it is a sing-along smash poised to dominate the global airwaves.

Showtek: “With our new song, “On Our Own,” we took the approach that everyone should and can be a strong and confident individual no matter what. This is obviously a strong message given the current political landscape we are living in. Also, it really harkens back to the fabric of dance music.”

Brooks: “This track means a lot to me. I’ve always respected Showtek a lot and I’m extremely proud that we’re releasing a collab now! We’ve been working on it for the last couple of months and made so many different versions of it. When we found the perfect vocal, we immediately knew that this was going to be the final one. After some more days in the studio together and testing it live, ‘On Our Own’ was done!”

Showtek, who already lined up several hit singles (‘Bad’, ‘Sun Goes Down’ (both with David Guetta) and ‘Booyah’) emerged with ‘Believer’ in the second half of 2016. A collaboration with globally acclaimed hit machine Major Lazer, ‘Believer’ hit #19 in Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, #23 in the official Dutch Top 40 and accumulated over 38 million streams to date on Spotify alone. ‘On Our Own’ might just be the record that follows in its footsteps.

International Chart-Topper Imany Premieres Video for Her Global Hit “Don’t Be So Shy” (Filatov & Karas Remix)

(Los Angeles, CA – January 30, 2017) Multiplatinum and critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Imany premiered the video for her worldwide hit single “Don’t Be So Shy” today via Billboard. The single, remixed by electro-duo Filatov & Karas, has taken the dance world by storm and topped iTunes charts in 27 countries, been streamed over 300 million times, gone Diamond in Poland and Platinum in Australia, Germany, and Italy.

The global chart topper is off Imany’s second studio albumThe Wrong Kind of War which will be released in the US March 10th via Ultra Records. The original version of the song was originally recorded for French film, Sous Les Jupes des Filles. Says Imany, “The song was written for a specific scene when 2 women were about to make love for the first time. One of the two was very insecure. The song Is about dropping the layers that prevent you from being yourself.” Of the remix, Imany says, it’s more playful, maybe a little more literal. The video aims to convey a feeling of freedom – the two women are isolated from the world and safe together. “It’s about being brave enough to love who you want to love any way you want to love them. At the end of the day it all comes down to being yourself, and feeling FREE to be yourself. That’s the message behind the video.”

Imany’s second album The Wrong Kind of War was released in 2016 in Europe and charted Top 10 in France. Her first album The Shape of a Broken Heart was released in 2011 and earned multi-platinum status in several European countries. Imany is currently touring and promoting the new album.

Elephante ‘Plans’ ft. Brandyn Burnette (Acoustic Mix)

Enlisting the beautiful vocals of progressive singer/songwriter Brandyn Burnette, this stripped back version is both a testament to Elephante’s diversity as a producer and his musical background. First written as an acoustic track, Wu’s offering celebrates the soulful side of dance music, with layers of guitar and piano surrounding Burnette’s moving vocals to create a raw and emotive composition, as powerful and compelling as its progressive house predecessor.

Speaking about the single, Elephante said “When Brandyn and I first wrote the song, we wrote it acoustic – just keyboard, guitar, and vocals, and we actually cut the first demo live. I actually had no idea what I was going to do with the production, so ‘Plans’ has always lived in my head as an acoustic song that happens to have electronic elements over it. Plus, Brandyn is such an incredible and passionate performer, I really wanted to do a raw version of the song that captured that. The song is also just such a beautiful tune, I think it’s a mark of a good song if you can do it without all the bells and whistles and still have it move people. Most importantly, I was messing around and sent a sketch of the acoustic version to my Mom, and she really liked it so that’s what really counts”

With the original mix of ‘Plans’ featuring on Apple Music’s Hot Tracks homepage, HypeM #1 and amassing over 2 million plays on Spotify alone so far, the acoustic version is sure to be another huge hit across both the dance and indie spectrum. It is Wu’s effortless ability to seamlessly transition between pop, bass, progressive house and indie whilst still maintaining his unique style that saw his inaugural EP ‘I Am The Elephante’ debut at #2 in the US iTunes Dance Album Chart and garner the support of tastemakers such as Billboard, iHeart Evolution and Sirius XM, to name just a few. Exercising a musical maturity on each production that belies his years, Elephante has well and truly cemented his position as one of the most promising talents dance music has to offer.
