Amine Edge & DANCE Win Bass Category At DJ Awards 2016

amine

Globe-trotting French duo Amine Edge & DANCE have capped another phenomenal year by being crowned winners of the “Bass” category at this year’s DJ Awards. To become the cream of this year’s sub-laden crop, the men from Marseilles had to fend off the challenge of an internationally renowned group of bass-heavy heavyweights including Andy C, Chase and Status, Hannah Wants, DJ EZ and more. The guys will receive the reputable Kryptonite award at the ceremony on 3rd October, at the world famous Pacha in Ibiza.
After blazing into the hearts and minds of the international music community with a modernized twist on low-end house and booty-bass indebted four-to-the-floor, Amine Edge & DANCE have set about developing their own signature sound and are starting to show their true talent and versatility as producers. The pair have recently released a new EP, ‘FCK UR OPINION’, via independent label Desolat helmed by the legendary Loco Dice. The EP features three monster techno tracks that ooze hard bass and showcase another slightly darker side of the AE&D sound, perfectly at home on the Düsseldorf-based label.
Taking influences as diverse as ghettotech pioneer DJ Godfather and golden era hip-hop producers alike and selling out events across Ibiza, Europe and beyond, the pair have also found time to champion new and exciting artists via their burgeoning label, CUFF. Saturday the 8th of October will see the duo bring their CUFF show to Ministry of Sound, an event definitely not to be missed. Expect a night combined with elements of energetic house, hip-hop and techno that impeccably showcase their unique sound. The event will also see accomplished producers SION, Tim Baresko, Chicks Luv US and more selectors stepping things up in The Box.

Cryptex Delivers New Nightwatch EP

(November 13, 2015 – Los Angeles, CA) – Happy Friday the 13th to those who believe in the supernatural. For those who don’t, I have something that will still make your Friday just as exciting. Actor/producer, Cryptex, premiered his highly anticipated tertiary EP, “Nightwatch” via his own label, Orphic Recordings. “Nightwatch” is available for purchase on all major retailers, including streaming sites Spotify and Soundcloud.

Glitch is in a world of its own, and brings a unique mindset along with it. You have to have an understanding on why glitch is so special. How taking a simple sound and distorting it can create such gnarly beats. Cryptex understands the complexity and beauty behind glitch, he’s always been a fan and now is showing his fans what he’s really made of. Join us as we embrace the glitch world yet again and become consumed with the heavy and sharp synths of Nightwatch.

Would love your support on Cryptex and the Nightwatch EP. If you’re digging the EP, please give it a like, <3, RT or repost. Of course, I encourage and would love any reviews, features or uploads of the EP. Also seeking interviews, don’t hesitate to let me know if you’re interested.

Ingenious, Proficient, Creative… in three words, you can summarize the immense work of Los Angeles-based Producer/Actor, Cryptex. Born Tyler Chase in Boston, MA, and raised in the smoky mountains of North Carolina, crafted in the halls of London, and cultured by the streets of Los Angeles – Cryptex has had an artistic edge since his youth. Growing up in public schooling, and eventually deciding to homeschool to graduate early to jump-start his acting path, Chase’s childhood was blessed with myriad musical and creative influences. The son of two radio professionals, they would listen to everything from Sting, Nora Jones, Michael Jackson, to more recent acts like Missy Elliot, even a broken Nelly CD that he and his mother found in a parking lot.

With a passion for the acting, Chase didn’t start out as most of his fellow producer peers. His first acting role was at the tender age of 11 years old, in a independent film called Dead Air, making major impressions in for a legitimate role well-played, even having suffered a ruptured appendix while on set. Tyler went on to be featured in dozens of film and television appearances — most notably a recurring role on AMC’s, “The Walking Dead” and guest star role on FOX’s, “Sleepy Hollow”. It wasn’t until 2008 when he heard edIT’s track “Crunk De Gaulle,” that Tyler first heard the ticking of BPMs inside of his head, that would eventually become Cryptex. The tune was unlike anything he’d ever heard– it went so deep into his bones that he spent the next few days going through every track of edIT’s, Glitch Mob, and dozens of others just to keep this feeling alive. This moment is when Tyler knew he was destined to make music, to create what he feels within and to bring out the world inside his soul. His first big break came in 2014, when MTV hired Cryptex to assist Patrick Claire and his team at Elastic.tv to create remixes for every nomination category for the 2014 MTV VMAs.

Sick Individuals ‘Drum Machine’ x ‘Chase’

Dutch DJ/Producer duo Sick Individuals continue on their stratospheric rise to club stardom with the release of an EP featuring two new tracks: ‘Chase’ and ‘Drum Machine’. Known for their slick productions and mammoth sounds, Sick Individuals harness their high-energy beats and dominating synths to create two devastating club bangers on this Size X release.

The first track, ‘Chase’, is a pulsating, rhythmic anthem that builds around an unforgettable organ melody that eventually drops, transforming the track into an EDM-style dancefloor smash. The second track, ‘Drum Machine’, also features a rhythmic, syncopated beat but the song soon goes on a different direction from the previous track. Featuring a 90-house style vocal sample and a driving, pounding beat, ‘Drum Machine’ utilizes an energetic synth rhythm to keep this driving house anthem fresh and exciting.

Sick Individuals are still a young duo in comparison with many of the heavyweights of the house scene – they’ve been named prodigies by some, and their productions reflect the educated musical background they acquired in hometown Hilversum in The Netherlands. In 2012 they released their remix of Icona Pop’s hit ‘I Love It’, which went on to become a hit in its own right. More recently they released single ‘Free’, which saw big support from international superstar DJs such as Hardwell, Swedish House Mafia, Tiësto and Alesso. The duo’s live shows exhibit the same amount of talent and passion as their productions, and this year has seen them perform alongside the likes of Axwell and Thomas Gold at this year’s Miami WMC.

Sick Individuals are the DJ/production duo to watch at the moment, their productions and remixes are unparalleled and evidence of this is in these two outstanding tracks from their new EP.
