As much removed as any current hit from Skrillex is from foundational dubstep landmarks like Skream‘s “Midnight Request Line,” so too are the latest manifestations from a long list of dubstep’s pioneers. Many of the veterans that helped to shape that spatial and hypnotic sound are returning to the experimentation stages and developing something new once again. Take for instance the sounds of Addison Groove, the project of dubstep DJ and producer Headhunter. Those Headhunter tracks stretched back into drum & bass, but Addison Groove’s latest branches are often influenced by Chicago ghetto house, though he adapts it with his own functionality for today’s dancefloor. Headhunter’s Tempa classic “Sleepwalker” should server as a nice contrast to any of the tracks on Addison Groove’s latest full-length album, Transistor Rhythm.
Avicii – Silhouettes
In case you didn’t know, Avicii‘s a bit of a jet-setter. And his new clip for “Silhouettes” manages to drive that point home, as it features the young DJ and producer boarding a private jet from New York, headed straight for the honeymoon capital of the world (it still is, right?): Niagara Falls.
TJR – FUNKY VODKA (NO BODY BOOTLEG)
ATTENTION blogaholics: one of our favorite up-and-coming DJ duos NO BODY have just hit a home run. Making the first jump into the remix pool, they’ve tackled TJR‘s beatport chart-topping tune ‘Funky Vodka’ and sent it through the grinding gears of heavy hitting electro. As we know this original tune would be a dance floor anthem in 2012, the NO BODY boys have just cleared this track for big room liftoff. We’re lucky enough to be giving you dirty dancers the exclusive download and we hope it turns your summer funky into festival fire.

Static Revenger ft. Dev – Turn The World On (Angger Dimas Remix) (Preview)
Indonesian producer/DJ Angger Dimas has had a relatively quite 2012 so far, considering how he ended last year with a bang that included the release of his Kitchen EP. Known for his heavy bass lines and dubby scratches, Angger Dimas brings just that to his next remix of Static Revenger’s “Turn The World On.” Led by an ample kick, the remix magnifies the original tenfold and uses the vocal in a more party-appropriate fashion. While we’d like to see more consistency from the 22 year old DJ, this short preview will do justice for now.
Morten Breum – Larva
Morten Breum, of Danish god status, today released his newest progressive house track ‘Larva’ exclusively on Beatport. Following up on his dubstep collaboration with fellow Danes Pegboard Nerds, ‘Larva’ certainly fits more cozily into the nook of the electro and house that one can normally expect from Breum.
Now a resident of LA, Breum was THE biggest DJ in Denmark prior to his relocation, even playing for the royal wedding of the crown prince of the country. That’s something that most American DJs can’t even dream about. ‘Larva’ is rumored to be the first of 15 tracks that Breum plans to release this year and he is setting the bar high from the get go. A steady, building progressive lead-in kicks up halfway through the tune and doesn’t abate. Don’t waste another second before listening and purchasing what is likely to be Breum’s breakthrough track on the American scene.

Andy Duguid feat. Shannon Hurley – I Want To Believe (Out Now)
Scottish DJ/Producer Andy Duguid is back with a brand spanking new track entitled “I Want To Believe” on the Magik Muzik imprint. Vocals are performed by Shannon Hurley.
It has been a while since we’ve heard from Andy Duguid, but behind the scenes he has been working very hard. Andy, who regularly performs as a DJ, has been in his studio for quite some time to work on new tracks, countless remixes and a new artist album. This new single is the best example and already everyone can tell that the sound of Duguid has evolved and grown. With the anthems “Don’t Belong” and “Wasted”, which both featured on Tiësto’s In Search of Sunrise series in his pocket, Andy built a rock solid reputation and so far released his album “Believe” and the mix compilation “Miracle Moments”.
“I Want To Believe” is a one of those trademark Duguid productions based on tight beat programming and an extensive, beautifully arranged break. After the climax the party continues and gives full way to Shannon Hurley’s magnificent vocals. Make sure to check out the remixes. Hit!
Pirupa – Party Non Stop
What was considered to be the track of WMC, ‘Party Non Stop’ is nothing short of a bomb. Produced by the young Italian, Pirupa, this track has been on many DJ’s set lists. Pirupa is coming off a streak of hot releases which include two Beatport number 1′s, therefore it is no surprise that a label rich with talent like Desolat would pick up the track. The combination of a fat rolling bassline infused with a vocal that is somewhat of a DJ credo, this track will create the atmosphere party goers yearn for. It is an upbeat tune that makes anyone within hearing distance bob their head.
Marc Simz feat. Naomi Striemer – This Is Love
One of EDM’s latest discoveries, is Dutchman Marc Simz. Shortly after his latest weapon ‘Blikkenslager’ with Aerofoil, he kicks in with a quality vocal trancer, ‘This Is Love’.
Nijmegen’s very own Marc Simz, a resident of the famous Matrixx club and dedicated trance lover, hasn’t only made name with his outstanding DJ sets, but also with many quality productions. Tracks ‘Forbidden City’, ‘Stealth’ and many remixes have made his name rise to fame, and for good reason!
‘This Is Love’, featuring the strong vocals of Naomi Striemer, is a silky smooth, warm glowing trancer with character. You’ll bump into this one on the dancefloor, that’s for sure!
