Moglii & Novaa release soulful, eclectic electronic debut EP ‘Down Under’

Moglii and Novaa release collaborative, debut EP “Down Under” today. The two musicians, based in Germany, started writing the EP a year ago, stemming from a shared love of organic, natural soundscapes and higher thinking. The EP is a wonderful mish-mash of genres, production elements and techniques, and vocal manipulation.

Tracklist: 1. Down Under 2. Mother 3. High 4. Same 5. Her 6. Golden Lights

“DOWN UNDER” was the first taste of their debut EP, and their introduction to the world. Thematically, “Down Under” focuses on the connectedness and circulation of energy that is felt, rather than seen. The production employs organic sounds and elements to allude to the earthy energy it is inspired by, with shifting rhythms playing a key role in representing the dark earthiness of nature.

“MOTHER” follows the journey of a young girl who runs away from a bad past towards a better, brighter future. As the two voices connect, separate, and then harmonise, creating the narrative both lyrically, and through the musical components of the song, we are drawn to a hopeful, climactic ending.

“Moglii’s style of warm beats, analogue synthesizers and soulful vocal samples meshes perfectly with Novaa’s sweet harmonies. The pair seem to have found their perfect counterparts with this new project” – Earmilk.

“HIGH” is about losing yourself in a moment or feeling – forgetting yourself as you get closer to someone.
Moglii: This is the most dance focussed track on the EP, possessing of an energetic sound driven by powerful synthesizers. The production is based on the vocal sample at the beginning, which became the refrain as well.

“SAME” revolves around the idea of living in a digital world – hiding behind a screen, and developing relationships in that way.
“numbers mean more than us / you count when I call”
The robotic vocal samples are the basis of the track, melding effortlessly with various glitchy elements within the rich digital soundscape created by warm, organic synthesizers.
“A nice downtempo ambience? Check. Beautiful vocals? Check. Cutting edge electronic sounds? Check” – Indie Shuffle

“HER” is awash with natural samples, breakbeats and a pulsating, bubbling rhythm.

Novaa: “Her” is about the demonic side of yourself that you cannot live without, rather than being inlove with a person. You hate and love this demon, and as such, you struggle.

Moglii: The production relies heavily on field recordings. All the fast “clacking“ and “noise” sounds are played with pencils on a table and on my window. The deep 808 kick – used as a bass at the same time – creates a warm and muffled sound, when the beat drops. I sang the vocal samples “uhh uhhhuh”, which I pitched and played in double-time. It’s a nice mix of Novaa and my signature sounds and style.

(About “Her”) It’s seriously going to be one of the sweetest things to pass your ears this week – Acid Stag

“GOLDEN LIGHTS” – about coming to rest, finding the calm inside you.
Moglii: the song is very much about the catchy hook and the sounds of harps and picked guitar flageolet notes, which I set in a warm, reverberant space as a symbolic illusion of the “golden lights” Antonia sings about.

Similarities can be drawn to YUNA, Sohn, BANKS, ANIMA!, Nick Leng, Howling, Vallis Alps, Bonobo.
THE STORY SO FAR

HAVANA BROWN & KRONIC ‘BULLET BLOWZ’

Just before his absolute ‘Beast’ of a track with Lil Jon and Senor Roar drops, Beatport-topping Australian EDM DJ/producer Kronic gets busy in the studio with fellow Down Under native Havana Brown on upcoming single ‘Bullet Blowz’. The pair delivers a juggernaut of an anthem perfectly timed for the international festival season, premiered exclusively this week via global music behemoth MTV.

Thundering electronic notes, driving snare slaps, basslines that threaten to induce sickness and Havana’s vocals spitting across the top saxophone lines of the track; this is big room, big arena, big event, big everything.

With an undisputed knack for working with the world’s hottest producers – four Billboard Dance and Club Play Chart #1s under her belt, her collaboration with Pitbull ‘We Run The Night’ smashing its way to platinum status in the US and RedOne, R3hab, Luciana, Nick Clow and more credited on her album ‘Flashing Lights’ – Havana Brown knows a hit when she hears one more than most. After his own success on the Billboard charts producing the Lil Jon and Tyga hit ‘Bend Ova’ and upcoming collaborations with Chris Brown and Justin Bieber, Havana was more than keen to work with Kronic.

“Kronic and I have been friends since the start of our careers when we both lived in Melbourne,” Brown said. “I’ve always been a fan of the character and energy of his music, and after he remixed my single ‘Warrior’ I knew we had to collaborate on something original. The hard part was finding a time when we were in the same city together for more than couple of hours!”
Kronic himself is still riding high after his latest track ‘Vamonos’ – a collaboration with Dirty Dutch King Chuckie and Krunk – made its way around the global dance floor circuit, catching the attention of Guetta, Dada Life, Showtek, W&W, Laidback Luke, Henry Fong, Radio 1’s Danny Howard and more.

Now with ‘Bullet Blowz’ ready to hit the download charts and ‘Beast’ receiving its first official play at Ultra Miami courtesy of MAKJ, the rising Antipodean star is beginning to make serious waves into the lucrative and hotly contested Stateside market.

MITS & Marcus Santoro – “You & I”

You’ve already approved of the remixes, now get ready for unveiling of the original! Australian producers MITS & Marcus Santoro have unleashed the second bundle of their latest accomplishment today via Neon Records. After “You & I” (Pt. I)’s successful break into the Beatport Progressive House Top 100 with MITS Alternative Mix and remixes from Lexer, Jordan Burns and Craz-E, you can now hear where it all began as “You & I” (Pt. II) includes the outstanding original, as well as two new distinctive remixes from David A. and Brooke Evers.

Aussie DJ/producer MITS found initial success contributing to American DJ phenom Kaskade’s Grammy-nominated album, Fire & Ice, co-producing monumental tracks like “Turn It Down” and “Llove.” Teaming up with Australian up-and-comer Marcus Santoro, the pair from Down Under brings you a progressive house triumph with a stirring drop and infectious vocals provided by Courtney Brianna.

Included in the collection is a trap remix by Canadian producer David A, an overnight sensation who’s received support from major artists like Skrillex. In addition, Australian cover-model, reality television personality and self-proclaimed “party-rocker” Brooke Evers lays down some big room beats perfect for the festival season.

Denzal Park’s new single “One Way Home” sees full remix package release

After a strong showing on the Beatport Progressive House Chart, enigmatic Australian duo Denzal Park’s pulsating new single “One Way Home” featuring Jon Hume (of Evermore fame) gets a full release today on iTunes and other digital retailers.

Premiered May 9 on Pete Tong‘s Essential Mix as the week’s Essential Selection, Hume’s clever hooks meet with Denzal Park’s signature progressive house sound, giving the track a depth lacking from most modern day productions and serves as a promising display of great things to come from the duo from Down Under. Arston, WasteLand, Marek and Fear of Dawn lend their remixing skills to the track for four very diverse takes on the vocal banger.

“One Way Home” is out now everywhere via Neon Records.

ABOUT DENZAL PARK:
Denzal Park kicked off their partnership 5 years ago with the Beatport # 1 ‘Finally 2008’, and set high standards for themselves by remixing for names such as Dirty South, Avicii, Martin Solveig, Edx, Cicada, Full Intention and Pnau. Their original floor-stompers ‘Amarok’, ‘Nammos’, ‘Militia’, ‘Filterfreak’, ‘Ascension’ and ‘I’m a Drum Machine’ have torn their way through charts across the world, gaining them support from The Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto, Pete Tong, Fedde Le Grand, David Guetta and Laidback Luke. The duo have also written and produced two platinum-selling singles and received Australia’s highest musical accolade, picking up an APRA award for Dance Work Of The Year.

Combining their production powers through a mutual affinity for electronic music, Kam Denny and Paul Zala have carved their initials deep into the dances floors and DJ-booths of their homeland’s biggest nightclubs, darkest dance-halls and festival fields, delivering their trademark concoction of euphoric melodies and down-to-business rhythms to thousands of eagerly pointed ears.
