Federico Scavo to release ‘The Drums’ on Area 94 Records

federico_scavo

Legendary Italian producer and DJ Federico Scavo is at it again with his latest track, ‘The Drums’. A slice of pure, feelgood house, the influence of Federico’s regular slots in sunny Miami and Ibiza can be clearly felt in this latest production, released on his very own imprint Area 94 on the 28th September.

Opening with bouncing hi-hats and the driving, eponymous drums, a thudding bassline, catchy synths and a distorted vocal help to build this track into a real groover, whilst satisfying waves of subtle breakdowns and drops are tailor-made for hands-in-the-air beach party moments. The climax of this record, however, comes with the clever sampling of the instantly recognisable chords of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s ‘Relax’. An effective touch halfway through the track, it transforms ‘The Drums’ from a solid house thumper to the kind of piece that results in unforgettable dancefloor moments.

Brand new remix on d:vision from Federico Scavo MHE ‘The Thrill Is Gone’

Federico Scavo has just released his reworking of MHE’s ‘The Thrill Is Gone’, infusing a fresh dancefloor feel.

The original is by Italian talent and former Daddy’s Groove member Gianni Romano – going by the elusive name MHE – and has picked up early support by Pete Tong, Alesso, The Avener, Benny Benassi, Bob Sinclar, David Guetta, EDX, Laurent Garnier, Nervo, Pep & Rash, Sam Feldt, Steve Angello, Wankelmut and more, proving that his debut single released on d:vision is sure to be a Summer anthem.

The Italian house king and Ibiza regular Federico Scavo takes the 1969 B.B. King iconic, timeless classic for a disco spin and updates ‘The Thrill Is Gone’ for the new generation with an energy-filled rework, preserving the soulful tone and inflection of the original, and adding in contemporary dancefloor elements to a groovy elemental piece.

While the Tocadisco Remix is already causing havoc on the party island getting played by the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Reboot, Sharam and Watermat, today we have an exclusive remix by another dance music industry leader.

THE WRITERS BLOCK RELEASE ‘DONT LOOK ANY FURTHER’ EP – OUT NOW VIA ULTRA RECORDS/SONY MUSIC!

Having already amassed nearly a quarter of a million plays on SoundCloud alone, and with a wealth of support from some of the most renowned DJs in the world, The Writers Block have now released their highly anticipated EP ‘Don’t Look Any Further’ – out now via Ultra Records/Sony Music!

Ever since their formation a year ago, the production trio that consists of Detox, Kam and Haile have been causing a stir on the dance music scene. In this short time they have managed to arm themselves with a loyal legion of followers, offering up to them a host of originals for their delectation. It is now following the release of this debut EP that the three Londoners are on track to becoming the next big thing in dance music.

With a host of amazing remixes featured on Part 1 of the EP to support the original, including a groovy Dub edit from German DJ/Producer Wankelmut, which was premiered on Mixmag, as well as a bass fueled energetic refix by up-and-coming producer Endor, this EP truly is a testament to the current climate of dance music and lands in our laps just in time for the festive period.

The second part of the remix EP is unsurprisingly just as spectacular as the first, with a huge edit from Logistics providing a slice of drum and bass to proceedings, whilst Ganzfeld Effect and Federico Scavo bring back the summer vibes with their house remixes. The four track second part is then rounded off with a special garage-fueled twist from the creators of the original as the The Writers Block throw down their very own VIP remix.

Toolroom Records Present ‘Federico Scavo – In The Mix’

House heavyweight Federico Scavo returns to the world-famous Toolroom Records with the inclusion of ‘In The Mix’ on the imprint’s 2014 edition of the annual ‘Miami’ compilation series. The Italian production master once again proves why he’s one of the most in demand international producers with this cool and collected addition to his discography. ‘In The Mix’ is 100% Scavo – contrasting techy drum patterns with a subtlety Balearic piano chord arrangement in a way that no one else does quite the same. It’s a typically perfect match for a compilation that will be getting heavy rotation at WMC 2014.

With the huge success of the ‘Toolroom Records Miami 2013’ release – also featuring Federico, there’s not surprise that he was invited back to contribute to this year’s compilation. Featuring a library of the best that House music has to offer including MK, Mark Knight, Chris Malinchak, Dusky, Weiss, Shadow Child, Hot Since 82, Jay Lumen, Breach, Huxley, Doorly, Richy Ahmed and a whole host of other Toolroom talents, it may only be February, but just like last year – this is looking like one of the compilations of the year for House music fanatics. Racking up a ridiculous 59 tracks in total, there are not many, if any labels out there that can come close to Toolroom when it comes to getting the absolute cream of the electronic music world all together for series that’s already a frontrunner for the greatest package of the year.

With 2014 looking like another busy year for Federico Scavo, he’s wasted no time making a start to his year ahead. We might just be a handful of weeks into the New Year, but he’s already well into his release schedule, which will be keeping up this impressive pace into the Spring and Summer seasons. With a remix package for Deadmau5 and a 2014 rework of his seminal ‘Ride Like The Wind’ lined up this month – Federico has started the year like her means to go on.

‘In The Mix’ is out now and available at Beatport.
