ZIMMER RELEASES STUNNING EP ‘COMING OF AGE’

Roche Musique producer Zimmer is now set to release his latest EP – ‘Coming of Age’, to the masses today July 10. This four-track window into Zimmer’s new musical direction is available to download and stream now.

Zimmer’s steady rise from Parisian based bedroom producer to a staple on the international DJ circuit and top 10 Hype Machine regular, has been nothing short of incredible. With a host of wildly popular remixes of the likes of MØ, Wunder Wunder and Tina Turner, as well as originals like “Galapagos” or “Saturday Love” that have clocked up countless plays, Zimmer is primed to show the next chapter of his musical journey.

Recorded in Paris and Los Angeles, Coming of Age oscillates between euphoric moments and nostalgia. The EP starts with “Heartbreak Reputation”, rising through multi-layered chords, majestic vocals from Polina and backed by a crisp slow-mo groove. ‘Escape’, the lead single from the EP, builds on this momentum with a playful piano melody and ethereal vocal from Norwegian singer Emilie Adams.

“Moonrise” revolves around a luminous guitar melody while ghostly vocals sweep in and out along muted drums, before an array of hand claps takes the song to it’s euphoric tipping point. Coming of Age ends with “We Are Infinite”, an epic indie finale that feels like the soundtrack of Lost In Translation, capturing the feeling of the morning after an incredible night out in Tokyo.

Zimmer describes his sound as a modern and colorful house music, and his new EP Coming of Age is definitely proving it. “With this EP, I took time to experiment, to sharpen my sound, to bring out the emotions I wanted on the record. I put my heart and soul into this, and hopefully it’s my most complete work to date.”

Zimmer will be touring around the world to share his EP in DJ sets. Be sure to catch him playing in the US, Canada and Mexico from September to October.

About Zimmer

Zimmer writes dreamy, modern and colorful house music. He is part of the new wave of Paris producers redefining French House, alongside Roche Musique label mates Darius, FKJ, Kartell and more.

In the few years he’s been around, Zimmer’s made his name largely of blog-hit remixes, earning millions of plays and support across the globe. He broke out in 2014 with his remix for Danish singer MO, clocking over 5 millions plays. His original work proves just as good: “Galapagos” is a luminous slow house gateway, while “Saturday Love” dips into night-time. True tastemaker, his religiously followed mixtape series keeps listeners in a year-round summer state of mind.

His new EP ‘Coming of Age’ marks his transformation into a well rounded artist ready to take it to the next level, with a more refined, minimalist sound. Recorded between Paris and Los Angeles, the EP oscillates between euphoric moments and nostalgia, seamlessly travelling between soundscapes. But perhaps the best way to experience the magic power of Zimmer is to see him DJ. His busy touring schedule took him all around the globe with over 80 dates in 2014, including sold out shows in NYC, SF and Paris. Coming of Age will be followed with a huge world tour that’s set to take Zimmer’s sound on festival stages and clubs alike.

CHEROKEE RELEASES ‘DAKOTA’ ON ROCHE MUSIQUE

With the dust barely settled following the January 5 release of ‘Teenage Fantasy’—an upbeat, ethereal masterpiece that has already amassed over 230,000 plays on Soundcloud—Luxembourg based producer Cherokee continues to reign in the New Year in style, as he now drops his highly anticipated follow up release.

Out now via Roche Musique, ‘Dakota’ is the second single to be unveiled from Cherokee’s forthcoming Teenage Fantasy EP, scheduled for release February 16.

Starting out as a duo, Cherokee is now piloted single-handedly by Dorian Miche who continues to evolve and bring the project to new and exciting creative heights. Having taken a year-long hiatus from the limelight to hone and perfect his signature sound, Dorian now returns on the form of his career, to share this masterful EP with the world.

Putting his own spin on French House, Cherokee has shaped ‘Dakota’ as the perfect exemplification of accomplishing something innovative and unique. Overlaying the classic yet new age disco percussion, is a symphony of jabbing and phasing synths, melodic swings, distinctive bass plucks, light guitar strums, and layered vocals lines.

As we approach the February 16 release of his Teenage Fantasy EP (also on Roche Musique), ‘Dakota’ is a great sign of things to come from this rapidly rising star. As Cherokee now looks to showcase his fresh sounds across the globe, having just recently signed to The Agency Group, be on the look out for tour dates in North and South American in the very near future.

Cherokee’s ‘Teenage Fantasy’ EP will be released February 16, on Roche Musique.

Norman Doray ‘Filtré’

Norman Doray, the prolific French DJ & producer, brings his inimitable style to Avicii‘s highly acclaimed label, ‘Le7els’. Due for release this July, the highly anticipated new single ‘Filtré’ showcases a different side to Doray’s productions as he delivers a fresh funk-inspired house record.

“It’s a real different track from what I usually do”, said Norman. “It was more of a side track that I did for me to listen to as I love French house […]. But I thought it would be interesting to put this record out and see how the new “EDM” generation would react.”
Taking heavy influences from Daft Punk and Crydamoure Records, Doray diverts away from the big room sound’s traditional pathways, veeing toward a tech-inflected groove. Focusing on instrumentation, ‘Filtré’ is a mix of energised beats, horn samples, and the glowing undertone of bass. Norman’s first record on the illustrious Le7els imprint and the affiliation between these two substantial artists is set to send shockwaves around the world of dance music.

Having successfully ridden the worldwide explosion of global EDM, Norman Doray sites his main influences as his French roots: disco, French House, and French Touch purveyors Daft Punk. He soon became an active part of Size’s roster after a few persuasive remodels for the likes of David Guetta, Skrillex and Toni Braxton. Norman is playing all around the world, having a residency at XS in Las Vegas and playing festival such as Creamfields, Tomorrowland, Beyond Wonderland, and Sunburn, to name a few.
