Australian singer/songwriter Jackson Dyer releases ‘The Absolute’, the 2nd taste of his upcoming EP

Australian singer, songwriter and producer Jackson Dyer releases new single “The Absolute”, the second taste of his forthcoming EP.

2016 will see the Berlin based musician release his 3rd EP, a distinct culmination of many months spent in the studio focusing on his songwriting and production. “The Absolute”, melds his alt-indie sensibilities with electronic and spacious production, resulting in a track that is both introspective and emotive.

“I wrote ‘The Absolute’ one morning as I tried to make some sense of the contradictions of this day and age. Like many people I know, click¬bait news and the endless number of conflicts and selfish leaders often leaves me feeling overwhelmed. ‘The Absolute’ is essentially an open¬-ended question, a means of trying to overcome the sinister nature and vested interests of ‘the news’.”

“The Absolute” is due for release on June 16, and is the second taste of his upcoming EP, which he first hinted at last year with single Steal Away.

THE STORY SO FAR

Jackson Dyer first arrived in Berlin, his newfound home, just over three years ago. The vibrant city has offered the Australian singer-songwriter an array of opportunities, where he has progressed from playing his indie-folk and soul infused songs on the streets to sharing the stage with the likes of Grammy¬ nominated acts Hozier and Hiatus Kaiyote.
Over the last few years Dyer has toured extensively throughout Europe in support of Berlin’s indie/folk outfit Mighty Oaks, performed to over 3000 people in Munich as the opening act for Jamie Cullum, and played at a host of European festivals.

Opening track ‘Not Ready For Love’, demonstrates her Jazz tinged cross over sound & has already received significant support from Triple J, PBS & ABC in Australia. ‘We Could Have All That’ shows her contemporary, neo soul pop credentials, whilst ‘Love You Like I Do’ shows off her deeper sultry sound. Comparisons with Amy Whinehouse & Beth Gibbons (Portishead) have led to support slots with Hiatus Kaiyote & appearances from the Melbourne Arts Festival to Glastonbury.
