Summer King Kav Verhouzer has just released a new track with Palm Trees called ‘In My Arms’. If you’re Dutch and haven’t seen much sun this summer (like us), this track will help.

Indian Summer is one of the hottest festivals of The Netherlands. Literally, it was flaming up in there. Even though it was at least 30 degrees Kav Verhouzer brought the heat. Wondering what it looked like?

Tinashe – Player (Jai Wolf Remix)

EDX – Want You (Then I Found You) + Revered

EDX – Want You (Then I Found You)

EDX – Belong

Sam Feldt – Show Me Love (EDX’s Indian Summer Remix)

Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP – Sugar Man (Original + Remixes)

From the trio that brought you “We No Speak Americano” comes Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP’s follow-up single “Sugar Man,” a re-envisionment of the 1970’s classic tune by Detroit folk singer Rodriguez. Out now exclusively on Beatport through Sweat It Out Music, “Sugar Man” is joined by a Club Mix and remixes from Vanilla Ace & Dharfunkh, Mason, Generik, Poolclvb and Indian Summer.
In February 2010, Matt Handley and Andrew Stanley, aka Yolanda Be Cool, already making waves in what they called the “party tech” scene, and label mate Duncan Maclennan, aka DCUP, creating a similar stir on the Nu Disco tip, were sitting next to each other on a flight back from a gig when the seeds were sown for their collab, “We No Speak Americano.”

Starting in the underground with support from house luminaries such as Switch, Jesse Rose and Round Table Knights, it then headed to the top of the worldwide charts where it went to #1 in 17 countries and platinum in the US, Germany, UK, Australia and more. After selling over 5 million copies, it was needless to say that YBC and DCUP soon found themselves in huge demand.
But with all the touring, the guys found it hard to find the time to get together. Until now.
Andrew says, “We always intended to do more tunes together, but we just never seemed to be able to be in the same room for long enough. Then Duncan moved to Melbourne and for a while, I guess we just did our own thing.”
Duncan takes up the story, “As much as we wanted to do more tunes together, apart from finding the time, we also knew that finding a sample with the same magic as Americano was a must. We didn’t want to just put out tunes for the sake of it. Fast forward to now, and it just felt right to get back in the studio. We had been passing sample ideas back and forth for a while and we all just fell in love with Sugar Man. It felt right.”

So after 4 years, the boys are back together with “Sugar Man,” and have brought on an array of Australian and international remixers to make an unforgettable package.
Tour of Cool’s main man Generik, riding high of an Aussie Club chart No. 1, drops us a rolling house treat big enough for the main room but cool enough for the side room. Soon to be huge Poolclvb give us a taste of the fruity tropics, while Indian Summer cement themselves as one of Australia’s absolute best at what has been at times described as the Australian sound.

As for the international remixers, Vanilla Ace & Dharfunkh give the tune their own Indie Dance/Nu Disco flavor, while Mason takes a more Tech House approach, rounding out the remixers to complete a package with the magic, charm and character brought by the Sugar Man himself.

Breaking the States has long been a marker of success for bands; artists and singers but only recently has it become a reality for dance acts. With the boom of electronic music still in full flow and the trend heading progressively more leftfield, the ears of the audience has become more open to a multitude of sounds. Tastemaker favourites and diverse producers Indian Summer are a testament to this. Racking up 2 HypeM number 1’s with ‘Shiner’, exceeding 2 million plays on YouTube and with the support of the most influential blogs around they are rapidly joining the ranks of Australian talent that the US is eager to see make the trip across the globe. This November, Gabe Gleeson and Chevy Long will be doing just that as they can now reveal the stateside leg of their Shiner tour. Check below for full tour dates!

To celebrate this milestone in their career, the Indian Summer boys have also gifted fans a listen to the long awaited remix pack to their hit single. With fresh cuts coming from Mike Metro, Option4 and Akouo, Shiner’s brooding vibe complete with Ginger & The Ghost’s signature vocals takes on 3 distinct styles from each up and coming producer. Stepping up to the plate with his typical rolling Denver bass and unmistakable ear for a dance floor hit, Option4 supplies the record with a 4×4 house beat and ingenious new chord progression to propel Shiner in to a deep house space where it resides perfectly. Implementing a parallel style but ruminating more so on the ominous tones of the original, Mike Metro ploughs in with a wavy synth line in support of Missy’s topline and a huge bass note to supply the heavy drop. Rounding things off with the class we know and love from his own productions, Akouo adds a superb edge to the track that smacks of a producer far beyond his young years. You can check and buy all of the tracks here now!

Only just off the back of an intense run of Australian shows and a hefty studio schedule, 2014 has provided little respite for Gabe and Chevy for which they have translated in to their most successful year to date. Honing every avenue of them as an act, the USA is set to enjoy the unique sensation they have kept to the Southern hemisphere for too long. Be sure to keep up to date across their socials for more updates.
