Benny Benassi’s “Danceaholic” out now on Ultra Music

Five years after Benny Benassi released his chart-dominating album Electroman, the Italian maestro is once again satisfying the cravings of dance music addicts with the release of his new album Danceaholic, available now via Ultra Music.

The 15-track offering serves as a perfect blend of old and new, demonstrating Benassi’s forward-thinking approach and illustrious ability to remain relevant. Consisting of reworks of previously released tracks and a bevy of fresh new tunes as well as collaborations with both longtime dance veterans and up-and-coming artists, Danceaholic proves Benassi’s genre-defying capabilities to explore new styles outside of his electro-driven wheelhouse.

Benassi’s latest creation showcases seven tracks that have already destroyed dancefloors, anchored by his collaboration with Chris Brown “Paradise” which has undoubtedly become this summer’s anthem. “Paradise” has held strop in the Top 50 UK charts for nearly 10 weeks, boasting more than 40 million video streams and 18 million Spotify streams. Other reworks on the album include an updated version of the 2013 popular sing-along collaboration with Grammy Award-winning superstar John Legend, “Dance The Pain Away,” a deeper edit of the tech-house, chart-topping retro groove “I Wanna Be Disco” which Benassi teamed up with fellow Italian producer Chicco Secci on, and a slowed down ‘Back to the Future’ mix of “Who I Am,” Benassi’s 2015 collaboration with rising star Marc Benjamin. Additionally, Danceaholic reincarnates the heavy slammer “Shooting Helicopters,” featuring vocals from System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian, and “Gangsta,” the successful collaboration with fellow dance music mainstay MOGUAI. The LP is rounded out by a newer track released previously this year, the progressive house anthem “Even If,” which has nearly 2 million Spotify streams topped Beatport’s Progressive House charts.

Danceaholic also serves up a cocktail of new offerings that span the modern music landscape while maintaining Benassi’s iconic ‘Electroman’ sound. The titular single “Danceaholic” is a club-ready groove consisting of anthemic electro beats and distorted robotic vocals reminiscent of industry icons Daft Punk. “Out of Control” serves as the vocal version to “Beardo,” Benny’s self-dubbed alter ego which manifests in the an exceptional underground club track that overlays Richard Judge’s deep haunting vocals atop future house hybrid synths. Benassi also partnered up with fellow Italian producer and longtime cohort MazZz on three of the tracks, including the darker more emotional track “Carousel,” “Analog Heart,” which mashes electro-house and psytrance sounds with an uptempo trance beat, and heavy-hitting house slammer “West Coast Patrol” which the duo produced alongside Chris Nasty. Emblematic of Benassi’s more recent vocally-driven work, Danceaholic also features collaborations with stellar vocal artists including airy croons from synth-pop artist Sheare on “I Keep Running,” uplifting bellows from BullySongs on progressive feel-good anthem “Universe,” and smooth sensual wails from Fatherdude on the slow-churning electro groove “Pandemonium.”

Since launching to fame with his global smash “Satisfaction” in 2002, Benassi has established himself as a legend in his own right and even earned a Grammy for his 2007 remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring The Noise.” Soon after his collaboration with Chris Brown on the #1 pop-hit “Beautiful People” came his partnership with star vocalist Gary Go that yielded Cinema.
An EP of epic proportions, the original radio edit went Gold in the US and Platinum in both Australia and Canada, with Skrillex’s thunderous remix occupying the Top 100 on the iTunes US Dance Chart for five years and swooping a Grammy for “Best Remixed Recording” in the process.

The tracklisting (below) was exclusively revealed via Shazam on Wednesday, April 20.

Produced and written by Kygo, ‘Cloud Nine’ features artists from every genre imaginable, with the likes of John Legend, Foxes, Tom Odell and Angus & Julia Stone all contributing to original songs for the album. ‘Happy Birthday’ featuring John Legend is a tribute to the birth of Legend’s recently born daughter, Luna, whilst Foxes sings her heart out on the Sia penned ‘Oasis’. The tour has seen him play a number of sold out shows in both the United States and Europe, from the Greek Theater in Los Angeles and Barclays Center in New York to Barclays Arena in Madrid and Le Zénith in Paris. He finishes up the whirlwind tour this weekend with two sold-out performances at London’s O2 Brixton Academy.

‘Cloud Nine’, will be officially released on May 13, 2016, via Sony Music International. Whether it was performing live shows for his adoring faithful at the likes of Ultra Music Festival and Coachella, bringing out John Legend to sing a rendition of his ‘Sexual Healing’ Remix at a sold-out Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, or being announced to play at the Nobel Peace Prize Awards, Kygo has seemingly achieved the impossible with each and every passing month.

Kygo then kicked things up a notch earlier this November, surprising us all with the news that he would be headlining the Barclays Center in New York on January 21, 2016. With support coming from Danish vocalist, MØ and ‘Firestone’ vocalist, Conrad, the concert will be Kygo’s biggest to date. Tickets are on sale now and you can watch the trailer for the show here.

Right at the top of the highlights coming from this year’s Miami Music Week was the news that two of dance music’s biggest names – Martin Garrix and Tiësto – had joined forces on a groundbreaking new song – “The Only Way Is Up.” The song, which also appears in a new 7UP commercial, premiered live at the Ultra Music Festival with Martin Garrix joining Tiësto on stage for a performance to cap off Friday night’s festivities.

Released today, May 4th, on Musical Freedom, “The Only Way Is Up” is THE festival season smash and the title sums it all up for Martin Garrix & Tiësto. With the young superstar on a meteoric rise to fame and the worldwide icon joining forces there’s nothing stopping them – “The Only Way is Up.”

“I’m a big fan of Martin’s music and his skills as a DJ and producer. The creative process flowed naturally from the start and I’m very happy with how the song turned out. There’s a reason why Martin is one of the hottest artists on the planet right now,” Tiësto says.

“The opportunity for me to work with my hero Tiësto was such an incredible experience. We really got to combine both of our visions on this track and the result is simply amazing. Couldn’t be more pleased with the end result,” Martin Garrix says.

Tiësto is a worldwide superstar who was voted “The Greatest DJ of All Time” by Mixmag and the “#1″ DJ by Rolling Stone. He opened the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and has headlined festivals around the globe including Ultra Music Festival, Stereosonic, Coachella, Tomorrowland/TomorrowWorld and Electric Daisy Carnival; and has a storied residency at Hakkasan Las Vegas Restaurant and Nightclub and Wet Republic pool at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. With Sirius XM, he launched the “Club Life” channel (the only dance music artist to do so), nodding to his acclaimed compilation brand of the same name. In February 2015, Tiësto was awarded a Grammy in the Best Remixed Recording, Non Classical category for his remix of John Legend’s “All Of Me.”

His global smash hit single “Animals” charted at #1 in the UK and reached international platinum status with to date more than 100 million streams on Spotify and 400 million views on YouTube. Entering 2015 with high-profile shows and festivals on the calendar and a brand new residency at Las Vegas’ super club Omnia, Martin’s ambitions continue to ramp up.
