Rainer + Grimm remix Kideko’s ‘The Jam’

Brighton-based producer Kideko has already made considerable waves with ‘The Jam’ – as evidenced by early support from Oliver Heldens, Blonde, DJ SKT and The Magician – and is now proud to announce two new remixes from drum & bass stalwarts Brookes Brothers and Canadian duo Rainer & Grimm.

Having peaked at #41 on the UK Shazam Chart back in June, Kideko’s ‘The Jam’ joins the dots between Technotronic’s classic dance record ‘Pump Up The Jam’ and the fresh, bass-slanted brand of UK house that has revolutionised dance floors over the last 12 months. Bubbling rhythm, deep-set baselines and colourful percussive flourishes – all built around iconic ‘Pump Up The Jam’ vocal inserts – gives the record a tangible sense of rhythm and groove that feel perfectly attune to the demands of 2015’s bustling house & bass scene.

In addition to Kideko’s original mix, fresh takes from Brookes Brothers and Rainer & Grimm now give the record both a new sense of perspective and a new dimension for the clubs. Brookes Brothers’ charging, melody-laced drum & bass mix is pure euphoria, while Rainer & Grimm drop the pace on their smooth, low-slung edit – a rework ready-made to soundtrack hazy, late-summer nights.

Kideko, a producer with official remix work for both Sigma and Shift K3y to his name at the age of only 22 – as well as current reworks of both John Newman’s ‘Come And Get It’ and Kove’s ‘Hurts’ – has been earmarked as one of the future stars of UK dance music since the turn of the year. With the record enjoying so much early support, ‘The Jam’ feels perfectly positioned to feed into the buzz already surrounding his name and grant Kideko a fully-warranted breakthrough.

BANKS – Drowning gets a huge deephouse remix by Love Thy Brother

Love Thy Brother’s most recent remix is of LA singer BANK’s new single ‘Drowning’ off her upcoming debut album Goddess. The two Canadian brother’s have swapped the weeknd style production for vintage electronic sounds and come up with a deep and dark tropical house mix. Pulsing arpeggios, hard hitting percussion and distorted samples give the song an italo house sound while staying true to the sultry, atmospheric vibe of the original.

New release on FFRR from Disicples – Poison Arrow

Enjoying a growing reputation after last summer’s underground hit ‘Remedy’ and their FFRR debut ‘Catwalk’, Disciples continue their momentum with the new single ‘Poison Arrow’ which is out on June 8th as their second release for the resurgent FFRR. The track was recently selected as MistaJam’s InboxFresh.

A co-production with underground titan Shadow Child, ‘Poison Arrow’ is house banger with a crossover hook which is propelled by booming, bouncing bassline. Between ‘Poison Arrow’, ‘Remedy’ and ‘Catwalk’, Disciples have already demonstrated an ability to weave between club sounds at will in the space of just three singles.

The original mix of ‘Poison Arrow’ will be packaged with an instrumental version as well as remixes from Redlight and Kilter.

Disciples’ roots were formed when Duvall and Gavin were the only two students on their music tech course who were interested in urban and dance-orientated music. As the duo started to work together, Duvall also started a program to encourage young people to develop their interest in music – one of whom was Luke. But it took another two years and a chance meeting on New Year’s Eve for the trio to commit to a project. They soon found that their individual strengths caused a chemical reaction when mixed together.

Working towards their upcoming debut album, Disciples’ material mixes an eclectic range of references, but shares an infectiously core sound that should infiltrate the mainstream.

Already championed by the likes of DJ Target, B.Traits, Trevor Trevor Nelson, Toddla T, Pete Tong, Rob Da Bank and Cameo, Disciples have also remixed artists as varied as Robin Thicke, John Newman, Grouplove and HAIM.
