James Chatburn drops new single “Omens”, as part of Soulection’s 6th birthday compilation

James Chatburn has dropped his first single of 2017, after an invitation by LA tastemaker label Soulection to be part of their 6th birthday “Promise Once More” compilation, alongside heavyweights such as IAMNOBODI and ESTA.

“Omens” showcases James’ incredible development as an artist. Sparse production built on handcrafted samples, synthesizers, drum machines, guitars and lush vocal layers, “Omens” moves with subtle lifts and drops, drawing on a more minimal approach and allowing the listener to soak in the vocals’ melodic and lyrical content.

The Australian singer, songwriter and producer only had one release last year – debut EP 001, but is gearing up to release a wealth of new music in 2017.

Le Youth – If You’re Leaving

LA-based producer/DJ Le Youth continues the curation of his Homewerk label with the release of the ‘If You’re Leaving’ remixes. Contrasting electronic visions of the original track from remix maestros Bit Funk, Futurewife, No Way Back and Love N Lerrone are all available to download and stream now via all digital retailers.

Brooklyn’s own Bit Funk is the first one to step up, the former drummer uses 909 cowbells, big electro synth stabs and panning disco lasers taking the track straight back to the 80’s.

Also, reigning from LA and providing his signature blend of bass and groove, is Futurewife. Hinging off Sydnie’s warm vocals, the track soothes with delayed piano stabs, a transfixing drop and a 4/4 dance floor energy.

Keeping strict to the same rhythm, experienced LA-based producer No Way Back, aka Anthony Pisano, lays down a riveting and energetic excursion, with surging atmosphere that keeps the groove rolling.

New York City’s Love N Lerrone takes the track on its final journey; this time we hear a textured production, with the use of deep pad work and a smooth bass line.

This is the third release off Le Youth new label Homewerk and is just a taster for what is to come. For more exciting news, make sure you follow his socials below.

TIDES Drops Impressive New Single “I Found You”

Jason Gaffner – ‘When The Sun Goes Down’

Los Angeles artist Jason Gaffner shares his sun-drenched pop single ‘When The Sun Goes Down’, the next taste of his forthcoming EP ‘Journeys’.

With metallic synths, an ear-worm baseline and Gaffner’s soulful vocals, ‘When The Sun Goes Down’ is a track that evokes the magic of summer nights.

“I wrote ‘When The Sun Goes Down’ when I was driving on the freeway in LA and there was this crazy beautiful sunset. It really made an impact on me and I literally pulled over and started writing the song right off the freeway. It was such a powerful sunset I felt like it was almost magical outside. There’s just something about those long summer days and summer nights that make it seem like anything can happen.” – Jason Gaffner

Rather than producing a typical tropical, summer track, Gaffner has taken the surreal sight and feeling of a sunset and translated that into synths that are cosmic; soaring beyond the ordinary. The billowing drums that preface each chorus creates a strong, demanding energy, like that of an incredible sunset.

Fernando Meira – Shadow

It’s been quite a ride for LA/based producer/DJ Wolfgang Gartner (aka Joey Youngman). Producing and performing for over a decade, he’s dropped numerous critically acclaimed dance anthems and is never afraid to explore different music styles along the way – from electro and progressive house to more funk tinged tech house.

In 2011 Gartner released his debut album ‘Weekend In America’ which propelled him to superstardom within the dance world and beyond. The versatile artist has also produced music alongside will.i.am, Mick Jagger, Tiësto, and deadmau5, while managing an extensive touring schedule.

Early this year Gartner returned to the spotlight with his sophomore album ’10 Ways To Steal Home Plate’, while playing clubs and festivals from North-America to the Ibiza isle. Turning 2016 into an amazing year, he now completes his year with ‘Devotion’, a track that embodies his love for vintage house music.

“‘Devotion’ is honestly my favorite song I’ve produced in years. I got back into the vintage house mentality that ultimately shaped my musical tastes, combined that with some of the fresher sounds that have been inspiring me lately and peppered in some traditional Wolfgang production tricks. ‘Devotion’ embodies all the different veins of house music that I have loved and produced over the past 20+ years. It’s an addition to my discography that keeps me evolving as an artist and exploring new territory rather than doing the same thing over and over again and playing it safe to please a fan base. Essentially, ‘Devotion’ is a nod to my TRUE house music roots with a current and personal twist on it.” – Wolfgang Gartner

DJ support includes: Tiësto, Oliver Heldens, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, The Chainsmokers, Quintino, Firebeatz, Ummet Ozcan, Afrojack, W&W, Dillon Francis, Laidback Luke and Jay Hardway.
