The Magician – ‘Tied Up’ ft Julian Perretta

KIDEKO stamps his sound on his own remodel of The Magician’s latest release ‘Tied Up’ ft Julian Perretta adding an intense electro build, giving the track an energetic overhaul.

The Magician and Julian Perretta’s collaboration on ‘Tied Up’ is an exciting moment for both artists; showcasing the best of both their talents, the single looks set to build upon the broad fanbase that both share.

Julian Perretta is a platinum-selling singer-songwriter – his single ‘Miracle’ hit #1 in thirteen countries – who has previously performed alongside Amy Winehouse, Marc Ronson and Beyoncé. After the success of his debut album ‘Stitch Me Up’ and single ‘Wonder Why’, Julian began to explore pairing his vocals and songwriting with electronic production, releasing tracks alongside Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Lost Frequencies.

As a DJ, The Magician has played at a diverse range of clubs; Pacha, Space, Ushuaia and Amnesia in Ibiza, Coachella, Output New York, The Warehouse Project and Amsterdam’s widely respected now-defunct Trouw to name a few. Since launching Potion, he’s brought the event series to Ministry of Sound, Showcase Paris, Exchange LA, Electric Brixton, New York’s Webster Hall and more.

The Magician is an artist whose commercial success goes hand in hand with years of experience in the underground side of the electronic scene launching his first EP, ‘I Don’t Know What To Do’ in 2011.

Available now, ‘Tied Up’ marks The Magician’s first release after signing with B1 Recordings, Ministry of Sound and Ultra for a worldwide deal with Sony Music.

Mysterious duo Stylus & Wax announce Passion Trax Records’ debut release ‘Let Yourself EP’

Pasion Trax Records is the exciting new independent imprint from Ryan MacKay, founder of RMX Music Group and DJ/Producer Liam Youngson, which is making waves in the house music panorama. The label has one focus: to recognize, showcase and support new and upcoming house producers with a rich and unique flair. Passion Trax provides these creatives with a platform to accelerate their careers and quickly establish themselves as main stays in dance music.

First up on Passion Trax is a debut release from anonymous production duo Stylus & Wax.
Having only just recently expanded their skill-set from the decks to the studio, the twosome are eager to catapult themselves right to the forefront of the ever competitive house scene. Despite being new to the studio, they are certainly no strangers to the dance world, having played in multiple clubs across the UK including one of them taking the decks at the world famous Ministry of Sound.
‘Let Yourself EP’ is composed of two tunes, the title track launches us into their sound providing the perfect introduction to their unique, deep and rhythmic beats, with a strong emphasis on FM piano and soothing saxophones making them a great ambassador and debut for Passion Trax Records. On the flip side is the hypnotizing ‘I See You Say’, again lined with strong piano riffs and a deep thumping beat both tracks are guaranteed to receive huge support and bag themselves plenty of airplay.

‘Let Yourself EP’ is due for release on 10th March 2017 and the pair are certainly creating a buzz; having already secured their first festival booking (Enjoy Music Festival, Aberdeen, 3rd of June 2017) and with their anonymity drumming up intrigue, these are a pair that are without a doubt ones to take note of.

The Magician releases ‘Tied Up’ ft Julian Perretta

The pair’s collaboration on ‘Tied Up’ is an exciting moment for both artists; showcasing the best of both their talents, the single looks set to build upon the broad fanbase that both The Magician and Julian Perretta share.

Meanwhile, Julian Perretta is a platinum-selling singer-songwriter – his single ‘Miracle’ hit #1 in thirteen countries – who has previously performed alongside Amy Winehouse, Marc Ronson and Beyoncé. The Magician is an artist whose commercial success goes hand in hand with years of experience in the underground side of the electronic scene. His first EP, ‘I Don’t Know What To Do’, came out via revered French label Kitsuné, before he went on to find widespread recognition from his remix of Lykke Li’s ‘I Follow Rivers’. An infectiously upbeat and catchy new version of the original, this remix now stands at almost 80 million streams on Spotify and reached #1 in five countries and #2 in four. After a number of successful productions via FFRR and Parlophone – including the huge Europe-wide hit with Years & Years, ‘Sunlight’ – he founded the aptly-named Potion label and event series on which he released last year’s successful single ‘Shy’.

‘Tied Up’ features warm chords and a soft bassline underpinning Perretta’s distinctive voice, with piano chords and chopped vocals providing depth in the chorus. With lyrics alluding to a difficult relationship, the song is emotive yet dancefloor-ready.

‘Tied Up’ is the new collaborative single from respected producer The Magician and successful singer-songwriter Julian Perretta. Available now, the single marks The Magician’s first release after signing with B1 Recordings, Ministry of Sound and Ultra for a worldwide deal with Sony Music.
