TAZER REMIXES SHAKKA’S ‘SAY NADA’

Having come up through London’s urban scene, Shakka has long been an artist’s artist and after receiving a MOBO nomination for Best Newcomer in 2013, the time is now for Shakka to break through to the mainstream.

Opening with a punchy bassline and a distorted take on Shakka’s vocal, Tazer’s upfront edit on ‘Say Nada’ blurs the line between urban infused house and straight up garage. With hard hitting synth interchanges and deeply rolling basslines, ‘Say Nada’ showcases Tazer’s talents as a producer and perfectly demonstrates

Tazer’s intricate production style and Shakka’s instantly recognisable vocals come together effortlessly to create the perfect blend of both deeply soulful and upfront club vibes for what is set to become one of 2015’s defining remixes.

‘Say Nada’ comes from Shakka’s forthcoming EP ‘The Lost Boys’ out 6th November 2015

Shakka ft JME ‘Say Nada’

London based singer, songwriter, and producer Shakka returns with massive summertime hit ‘Say Nada’ in collaboration with seminal grime artist JME.

Having come up through the London’s urban scene, Shakka has long been an artist’s artist and after receiving a MOBO nomination for Best Newcomer in 2013, the time is now for Shakka to finally break through to the mainstream.

Calling in JME for collaborative duties, ‘Say Nada’ has carnival vibes throughout the rolling beat and brings together grime elements and upbeat vocals for what is a stand out feel good track. Finding the perfect blend of big choruses, rolling guitar riffs and heavy basslines, ‘Say Nada’ is the perfect showcase of Shakka’s talents as a producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist.

Shakka’s vocal dances effortlessly from verse to chorus and back again on what is set to become one of summer 2015’s definitive records and cement Shakka’s reputation as an artist to watch closely.

The track opens with the deep guitar riff that rolls throughout the track before JME lays the first punchy vocal calling for the DJ to ‘pull a banger out the bag’ and the track opens into Shakka’s smooth vocals and tight rhymes.

‘Say Nada’ comes from Shakka’s forthcoming ‘The Lost Boys’ EP out on Pitched Up this October.

So Solid announce ‘Solid Soul: The Best of So Solid’

When So Solid Crew’s ‘21 Seconds’ stormed to No.1 on the UK Singles chart in August 2001, everything changed completely on the UK Urban music scene. Not since Soul II Soul (a full decade and a generation earlier), had a UK urban act so completely influenced and shaped an entire genre of music. So Solid Crew not only succeeded in selling records by the truckload, they also gave UK Urban music a new identity and confidence – and that is without doubt the legacy of So Solid Crew.

September 30th marks the release of Solid Soul: The Best Of So Solid, making it the first time that all of the trail-blazing collective’s hits have been compiled onto one definitive collection. With no fewer than eleven Top 10 hits, three No.1 Records and three fantastic new songs on the album, this is a must-have record for any fan of UK Urban music.

The tracks on this album dominated the UK charts from the turn of the millennium and shaped the contemporary UK urban music scene, crossing it over to a wider audience in a way that we take for granted today. The Crew’s cutting edge blend of R&B, Rap and Garage beats, came straight out of the underground rave and pirate radio scenes prevalent across London. Of the So Solid sound, Megaman said: “It’s a whole new sound. We’re using a straight R&B and Hip Hop sound – but with a little bit of a Ragga flavour, and that’s what makes the difference.”

The album not only features all of So Solid’ biggest hits, it also features individual members’ hit records too – with top 10s from Lisa Maffia, MC Romeo and Oxide & Neutrino, underlining the raw and collective talents within the group.

With over 2 million albums and singles sold between them and a host of awards including MOBO and BRIT Awards, So Solid Crew were the Godfathers of the UK Urban music scene.

And now The Crew are back with a fantastic new single (UK Hot Wid It) and two other new tracks (‘Bagpipes’ and ‘Emergency’). UK Hot Wid it is a scorching return to form with early support at 1Xtra and a phenomenal response to the track from listeners. It will be released as a digital single ahead of the album on September 16th.

The collective are also back with new shows including The Ibiza Rocks Festival on September 6th before returning to the UK for their own tour in October:

Oct 1: Sheffield: The Plug
Oct 2: Norwich: The Waterfront
Oct 3: Birmingham: The Institute
Oct 4: Manchester: The Ritz
