Nero – ‘Into The Night’ Remix EP incl. reworks from Nero, Amtrac, Friend Within & more

Following the official video release of ‘Into The Night’, NERO have unveiled a seven-track remix package to compliment the single, taken from new album ‘Between II Worlds’. Featuring new mixes from Friend Within, Leon Reverse, Amtrac, Dawn Wall & MANT, as well as an exclusive NERO ‘88 remix, ‘Into The Night’ is transformed, with each rework tapping into the buzz surrounding the single itself.

Kicking things off is NERO’s very own ’88 remix which taps into glossy 80’s electronica, while MANT flip their mix towards house and techno, giving the track an altogether different dimension. Friend Within delivers a typically bass-heavy cut moulded for the club, whilst Newcomers Dawn Wall inject the track with steely, zapping energy, layering it with signature drum & bass sounds. Amtrac then strips back the vocals in his cut, driving the track with a pulsating bassline, transforming it into a dark underground club creeper. Continuing to take the record to new depths is ATTLAS as he taps into the instrumental, focusing solely on the electronic elements throughout, before signing things off with Leon Reverse who leads the track through a series of piano chords and thumping baselines into his rework.

NERO unveil new anime video for ‘Into The Night’

To coincide with the release of their forthcoming single ‘Into The Night’, director Markus Lundqvist and NERO’s very own Dan Stephens have shared directorial duties on creating an electrifying, anime visual experience. ‘Into The Night’ is the band’s forthcoming release from ‘Between II Worlds’, following huge records ‘The Thrill’,‘Satisfy’ & ‘Two Minds’.

The ‘Into the Night’ video sees a lead male deployed to kill a villain, all the while his love waits in fear of his uncertain fate. He arrives at club ‘Satisfy’ where NERO are performing and escapes the scene amidst explosions. Both racing into the night, the characters finally cross paths, the scenes flitting between the drama and NERO vocalist Alana’s show-stopping performance. Her energy is the driving force of passion throughout, with the visuals brought to life by vibrant colours and offset with intricate artwork & graphics.

On directing the video, Dan states: “It’s long been a dream for us to commission an animation video for one of our songs. We’ve always been huge fans of 80s and early 90s anime and we wanted to capture that look and put it into the NERO world. Markus Lundqvist and I talked about making this video for months (ever since he directed the video for The Thrill) so to have finally finished it and be releasing it feels very special. We’re so proud of this one and we hope you enjoy it.”

About NERO
NERO are the London born trio made up of Dan Stephens, Joe Ray & vocalist Alana Watson. Having formed in 2004, they first started out on their production journey dedicated to a niche of music lovers, and their debut album release in 2011, ‘Welcome Reality’ went on the reach the #1 spot in the UK album charts. The band have embarked on a four date UK tour showcasing material from the new album, culminating in a performance at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

NERO – Essential Mix

Listen to NERO’s brand new 60-minute ‘The Satisfy Mix’

NERO debuted ‘Satisfy’ last month, a slice of club focused electronica, it has quickly emerged from the shadows to become a summer favorite. ‘Satisfy’ is the first new music from the band in over 18 months, and its clear that NERO has used that time to evolve the dark, dramatic and powerfully raw electronic sound that made them a household name with their debut album ‘Welcome Reality’ and the platinum selling album ‘Promises’.

‘Satisfy’ shows NERO’s musicality in full effect, and their emergence into a fully developed live three-piece band, with Alana Watson resplendent on vocals. The full NERO live experience will make a stop at the UK’s legendary Reading Festival this August.

Following ‘Satisfy’, NERO has now delivered a 60-minute mix. A trip through the diverse diaspora of NERO, this is a mix that will catch many by surprise, touching on the band’s broad musical influences new and old, its a journey through dance music culture, that hints at further new material to come.

NERO’s incredible new single Satisfy is premiered by Zane Lowe

As NERO, Dan, Joe and Alana have remained markedly elusive since the release of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Welcome Reality’ in 2011; an LP that also boasts platinum selling single ‘Promises’, but have, it seems, broken their silence to present an exclusive new track – Satisfy.

As premiered by Zane Lowe as his ‘Hottest Record in The World’ on BBC Radio 1 and available on iTunes now, ‘Satisfy’ hints at a long-awaited return from the shadows. With little other information offered, Alana’s haunting tones and the deep rolling bass of Satisfy makes us wonder what’s around the corner from NERO…

Nero – Into The Past

Nero – ‘Into The Past’ // Group collaborate with Baz Luhrmann on score for ‘The Great Gatsby’

Nero, the Grammy winning electronic group comprised of British-born producers, remixers, DJs, and artists Dan Stephens, Joe Ray and vocalist Alana Watson, have collaborated with Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge, Romeo & Juliet) on the score for his upcoming Warner Bros movie ‘The Great Gatsby’. Shawn “JAY Z” Carter served as executive producer on the film and the soundtrack.

The trio, who shot to #1 in 2011 with their debut album “Welcome Reality”, created original music for four scenes in the movie, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire and is released in theatres May 10. Working closely with Baz Luhrmann, and score composer Craig Armstrong, Nero’s original orchestral arrangement evolved into the full Nero track, “Into The Past”, featuring vocals from Alana Watson, that appears exclusively on ‘The Great Gatsby’ official soundtrack alongside artists including JAY Z, Beyonce, Bryan Ferry, Florence and the Machine and The xx. The soundtrack will be released by Interscope Records on May 7th and will be available in physical, digital, deluxe and standard formats.

“As big fans of both the novel and Baz Luhrmann’s work, it wasn’t a hard decision when we got the call asking if we’d be interested in getting involved in ‘The Great Gatsby’,” said Nero. “Baz had used a couple of our tunes as reference points in early drafts of the movie, so we essentially had to recapture but develop the emotion of those moments. We ended up working on 4 scenes with Baz and Craig, and one of those evolved into a complete new Nero track, ‘Into The Past’. We were thrilled when we heard this was going to end up on the full soundtrack, and can’t wait for our fans and new listeners to hear it.”

Nero, one of the biggest names in dance music, won their first GRAMMY at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards in February. They collected a prestigious GRAMMY for Best Remixed Recording, Non Classical for Promises (Skrillex & Nero remix). The remix, released last year, is out on MTA Records in the UK and Interscope in the US. “It feels amazing to have won our first Grammy,” said Nero. “’Promises’ has been a huge record for us, and it’s incredible to have it recognized with a Grammy. We’ve been close friends with Skrillex for a long-time, he’s a singular talent. It was great to work together to combine the Nero and Skrillex sounds and make a unique remix that really connected with fans.”
