The Magician releases Tied Up remixes from offaiah, Kideko and more

Following the release of ‘Tied Up’, Belgian DJ and producer The Magician has announced a remix package for the collaborative track with Julian Perretta. Featuring an edit from offaiah, Kideko and a Balearic dub, the three reworks will be released on the 5th May via Ministry of Sound Records.

Kicking off the package is offaiah’s deep, rumbling rework of the original melodic track. Adding crashing synths and a gripping tempo, the track is given an ominous attitude fit for peak-time sets.

Brighton-based artist Kideko brings his distinguished UK bass sound to ‘Tied Up’, reworking it with a hefty-low end and jacking rhythm. The thundering edit underpins Julian Perretta’s choppy vocal samples.

The Magician then returns to his Balearic roots with a dub version of the track, perfect for sunsets on the beach. Driven by a rolling groove, he turns ‘Tied Up’ into a laidback beat, echoing Julian’s soaring vocals and keeping his signature piano melody.

Released in February, the original version is an emotive piano-led single and has already amassed over 4 million plays on Youtube and Spotify combined. ‘Tied Up’ marks the first release since The Magician signed with B1 Recordings, Ministry Of Sound and Ultra Records for a worldwide deal with Sony Music, further cementing his international success.

The Magician is an artist whose commercial achievements goes hand in hand with years of experience in the underground side of the electronic scene. His first EP, ‘I Don’t Know What To Do’, came out via revered French label Kitsunê, before he went on to find widespread recognition from his remix of Lykke Li’s ‘I Follow Rivers’. This remix now stands at almost 80 million streams on Spotify and reached #1 in five countries and #2 in four. After a number of successful productions via FFRR and Parlophone – including the huge Europe-wide hit with Years & Years, ‘Sunlight’ – he founded the aptly named Potion label and event series on which he released last year’s successful single ‘Shy’.

Aside from his steady production schedule, The Magician has played a diverse range of clubs; Pacha, Space, Ushuaia and Amnesia Ibiza, Coachella, Output New York, The Warehouse Project and Amsterdam’s widely respected, now-defunct Trouw to name a few. With his Potion series, he has brought showcases to Ministry Of Sound, Showcase Paris, Exchange LA, Electric Brixton, New York’s Webster Hall and more.

This year, The Magician has a hectic touring schedule ahead of him with several festival performances including a Potion takeover at Tomrrowland, a tour across America and returning to his Balearic home, Ibiza for several dates at Pacha.

MOGUAI’s version of ‘Momentuum’ is armed with menacing synths and a stomping bassline, bounded by a smooth male vocal. The German producer takes the progressive house sound his One Day Hero moniker is known for and creates a striking reimagining as MOGUAI.

Under his One Day Hero side project, the German producer released ‘One Day Hero’ feat. Lions Head (MOGUAI Remix) this summer, which received over 2 million YouTube plays and counting.

Platinum-selling artist André Tegeler otherwise known as MOGUAI, has made an impact in all corners of the dance music genre. With a musical career spanning almost 20 years, his sound marries elements of all styles of electronic music. MOGUAI released his single ‘Pray For Rain’ – which he named his personal masterpiece. Away from the studio, MOGUAI has played several prominent clubs and festivals including Tomorrowland, Electric Daisy Carnival and Pacha amongst many others.

Bicycle Corporation and Piston Recordings go ‘Back To Basics’

Italian DJ and producer duo Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano (6884) aka Bicycle Corporation debut on Piston recordings with the fantastic, retro inspired Back To Basics EP. The guys find themselves travelling the world and dishing out their unique mixture of house grooves, prog atmospheres and techno funkadelism. While Marco is a longstanding DJ – having played at major clubs like Pacha, Fuse, SOS Superclub and the Imperia Lounge Moscow – Stefano refined his skills in the art of playing synths. They merged these skills into an original project with a penchant for house music, while always keeping a distinctive sound. Their tracks have been released on labels such as Mauro Picotto’s Alchemy and Phunk Investigation’s Miniatures Records and they have received support from artists such as, like DJ Sneak, Dubfire, Axwell, Danny Tenaglia, Above & Beyond and more. They have also provided remixes for the likes of Mauro Picotto, Eddie Amador, and Chris Fortier. These guys have their finger firmly on the pulse, they traverse the underground scene in tandem with mainstream clubs ensuring that everybody gets a taste of their sound. Delighted to have them on board at Piston and we hope to see more soon.

First up out of the three tracks on offer is Never Go Away, which sets the scene perfectly with its cool retro vibe oozing out of the sound. Punchy kick drums are met with shuffling percussions and snappy snares that get the rhythm juices flowing. But, the main even here is that lush hypnotic bass and those oh so beautiful piano chords that infect your mind instantly. A proper slice of deep house grooves to whet the appetite.

Everybody Wants A Swimming Pool is another fine example of this duos love of all things house music. Beautifully crafted drums keep the rhythm flowing while luscious chords wrap us up in a warm glowing groove backed up by a nice pumping bassline. A simple and highly effective cut that will most definitely not disappoint.

If Only I Were Cool Too keeps with the retro theme and pulls out all the stops to great effect with the use of some classic drum sounds that will draw anyone to the floor. The drums build nicely with a pounding kick drum at the fore and erratic shuffling hats following suit. A fuzzy house pad rises up and we’re locked on to the mesmeric groove. Our minds get blown with the introduction of a phat acid line that comes straight outta 1988 to dominate the track with ease. A superb cut that you do not want to miss.

MOGUAI presents visually stunning video for new single ‘Pray For Rain’

Continuing on with a successful 2016, German DJ & producer MOGUAI is ready to reveal his new single, ‘Pray For Rain’, out now via Tonspiel/Warner.

With a musical career spanning over almost 20 years, André Tegeler otherwise known as MOGUAI has made an impact in all corners of the dance music genre. Kicking off 2016 with ‘Hold On’ featuring LA-based trio Cheat Codes, the track amassed over 17 million online streams and climbed up several online charts. Away from the studio, MOGUAI has played several prominent clubs and festivals including Tomorrowland, Electric Daisy Carnival and Pacha amongst many others.

With his dynamic and meticulous production skills at the forefront, MOGUAI’s ‘Pray For Rain’ kicks off with a prominent guitar chord progression and a smooth, emotive male vocal, on top of a twinkling synth melody. Soft percussive elements and a guitar riff play as an introduction to the track’s chorus – a plethora of warped synth and guitar melodies and a dominant bassline.

The accompanying music video portrays three girls’ adventures during their summer holiday in Barcelona. Complimenting the single, the visual follows the trio as they experience what Barcelona has to offer – from frolicking on the beach to Barcelona’s nightlife. With small appearances from MOGUAI himself, the video captures the ultimate summer getaway.

Dubbed as his personal masterpiece, ‘Pray For Rain’ is set to bow out the summer and storm up the charts.

Annie Mac makes MK ft Becky Hill ‘Piece Of Me’ HOTTEST Record In The World

The extended edit of MK’s highly anticipated new single, ‘Piece of Me’ is now out, after receiving its first play on Annie Mac’s famous BBC Radio 1 show on Friday. This premiere came after MK first been revealed the track in a live performance alongside Becky Hill on BBC Radio 1. His impressive set was part of Pete Tong‘s ‘Live in LA’ event, with the new song becoming one of the most talked-about highlights of the show.

New material from MK is always a big event, especially the original productions; several of his earlier releases, including ‘Always’ and ‘Burning’, were instrumental in helping dance music first cross over into the mainstream. He’s also well known for being a prolific remixer, with numerous chart successes confirming his skills for crafting catchy hooks and instantly recognisable melodies. The Detroit house master’s remix of of Storm Queen’s ‘Look Right Through’ hit #1 in the UK singles chart and became a defining sound of that summer, whilst his remix of Wankelmut & Emma Louise’s ‘My Head Is A Jungle’ was another huge mainstream success.

New single ‘Piece of Me’ opens with MK’s trademark stylistic flair, with a chopped, pitched-down vocal sample adding extra melody over the strong, summery piano chords. Becky Hill’s souring vocals lead the track – as a singer who has previously collaborated with Rudimental and Oliver Heldens, her credentials are self-evident. Underpinned by a driving bassline, ‘Piece of Me’ is an anthemic creation worthy of the huge festival and club crowds that MK so regularly frequents as a DJ.

‘Piece of Me’ marks the first release on MK’s newly-relaunched Area10 label. With many more release announcements to come and live Area10 stages at festivals across the world this summer, this track is the first taste of big things to come – watch out for the Area10 Warm Up Sessions live dates, which will be announced very soon.

Over the last few years MK has become one of the elite in the Shazam charts with a plethora of remixes including Lana Del Rey, Sam Smith, Rudimental, Kant, and Pharrell to name but a few; his version of Rufus Du Sol’s ’Say A Prayer’ is his latest remix success. With his Area10 brand hosting stages at We Are FSTVL, Parklife, Creamfields and Tomorrowland as well as his summer shows at Pacha, MK can certainly be counted as one of the more influential and prolific DJ/producers in the game. ‘Piece of Me’ is just the beginning of a big year for the influential house music master.
