It’s safe to say that 2016 was a landmark year for America based Max Vangeli. The multitalented Moldovan kicked the year off in style by signing an exclusive record deal with industry trendsetters Armada Music, which has seen the launch of his very own NoFace Records imprint – a marvellous milestone for any artist. Dubbed “one of the most promising artists” in the industry by MTV and championed by industry royalty such as Tiesto and Steve Angello, Max went on to release infectious hits including ‘Shine’, ‘Blow This Club’, ‘Get High’ and ‘Why Do I’ on the imprint – cementing its place as one of the scene’s most exciting emerging brands.
After ending 2016 on a high with the release of Dutch superstar Laidback Luke’s remix of ‘Feel The Music’, NoFace gets the ball rolling with Max’s collaboration with DATABOY titled ‘Top Of My Lungs’, a House thriller that has to be among the catchiest songs of the year. Teeming with bobbing rhythms, playful vocals and more feel-good vibes than a candy store, this amazing cut is a sure-fire way to get the party started. ‘Top Of My Lungs’ is out now so make sure you grab your copy quick!
Santa is not the only one delivering presents this year. With help from some friends, the Kannibalen Records family is taking over the holiday with the “All I Want For Christmas Is Bass” compilation.
The first gift comes from YOOKiE, who returns to the label with their monstrous anthem “SUBS” that will blow up sound systems if you’re not careful. Next, Jayceeoh and Holly bring the holiday turn up record with “Every Night” which you can use to party all 25 days of Christmas every year. Karluv Klub holds it down for the Kannibalen roster with his dirty original “Love Addicted.” If you haven’t gotten your full fix of bass yet, “Up D Ladda” by Fed-Up and the Jamaican MC Brukout from the Flex Up Crew should satisfy your wish list. To wrap things up, Kedzie retells the infamous “Unicorn” tale from TAI & Le Shuuk with heavy growls and an affinity for grimy tones; just to make sure you’ve got all the bass you need this Christmas.
California-based DJ and producer MAKJ closes out the year with his new music video for “Party Till We Die” featuring Andrew W.K. and Timmy Trumpet. The video directed by Matt Alonzo, who has previously worked with Tyler, The Creator, The Game, and more — shows grandparents sneaking out of a senior citizen’s home to crash a party where MAKJ is DJ’ing. Their night turns into a scene straight out of Project X with the grandparents making out with party-goers and doing keg stands, body shots, and more.
Discovering a passion for mixing and DJing by the age of 15, MAKJ has earned the title as an acclaimed producer, continuously exposing creativity and diversity throughout his music. At 17, he was able to hone and perfect his craft under the tutelage of legendary turntablist DJ AM. His originals such as his collaboration with Lil Jon have landed him multiple iTunes Dance Top 10s and a spot two years in a row on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs List. MAKJ’s prominence has led him to new heights, performing at festivals such as Coachella, EDC, TomorrowLand and Ultra. Having hosted his acclaimed weekly Revolution Radio show on SiriusXM Radio for 3 years now and at only 26 years of age, Mackenzie Johnson has achieved an almost unfathomable amount of success. His dedication to his craft and ambition will continue to propel him into the dance music spotlight. After releasing a collaborative track with famed party rocker and Internet personality Andrew W.K., MAKJ has been hard at work on his debut album, which is set to release soon.
Following their most successful season to date in Ibiza in 2016, world-famous nightlife revolutionaries elrow have announced that they will join forces with Amnesia next season for their 2017 island residency. With ten consecutive sold-out events rounding off Space’s final year, elrow will host 18 nights from 3rd June to 30th September 2017 which will be spread across both the main room and the terrace of Amnesia.
With a production and stage design team that’s unrivalled, the promise of elrow’s latest island spectacular will not disappoint. Each show will be packed full with incredible sets, costumes, props, street theatre performances, circus characters, animation experts and showers of inflatables and confetti that’ll blow the minds of both party novices and veterans.
The Arnau families latest concept, ‘elrowcity’ – reformulating the “all-nighter” with one international guest centre of a stage constructed as an ode to their hometown – will take over Room 1 of the club. The terrace will be hosted by one of elrow’s ever-irregular schedule of shows, themed to such theatrical titles as: ‘From Lost to the River’; ‘Sambodromo do Brasil’; ‘Bollywood’; ‘Singermorning’; ‘Feria de Abril’; ‘Pychedelic Trip’; or, ‘Rowlympic Games’. Although the official programming is yet to be revealed in the coming months, elrow can already say that the opening chapter of their adventure at Amnesia will be of epic proportions, now afforded by a name that guarantees the best of times and talent.
The Amnesia and Arnau families praised their new fellowship, commenting:
“After many years of friendship with the Amnesia family, elrow are very happy and excited about the most incredible club in the world and the most crazy and bizarre party of the moment coming together to create an explosive combination that will be unforgettable. We are going to make sure that the audience will relive the essence and the crazy spirit that has always represented the white island.”
“We both really wanted to work together, and Amnesia are so excited to see this year one of the best parties in the world in one of the most emblematic clubs of the island! We share the same passion, identity and above all the love for music! We cannot imagine a more perfect combination anywhere else.”
elrowFamily is the Arnau’s umbrella brand, owners of the Los Monegros festival and the legendary club Florida 135. A family that has been involved in the world of entertainment for more than a century and is now revolutionizing it with its latest project, elrow, a new concept of nightlife entertainment, in which the figure of the DJ as a celebrity and the importance of the line up are replaced by an essential and 100% immersive thematic show that mixes decoration, animation and theater with the best electronic music of the moment and where the participation of the audience is key.
