Listen to two dOP remixes of Rashid Ajami’s new single ‘Night Prayer’ ft. JAW

Fresh from remixing Foreign Guest’s recent single ‘Rek’ for Berlin’s Crossfrontier Audio, London-based producer Rashid Ajami is proud to present his inaugural EP for Noir Music ahead of its release on September 25th. ‘Night Prayer’ ft. JAW – complete with two remixes from Parisian trio dOP – taps into the distinctive, deeply-resonant sound that first saw Ajami catch the attention of influential tastemakers Anjunadeep back in early 2013.

Centred around a deep, peak-time groove, ‘Night Prayer’ first and foremost exhibits Ajami’s flair for writing song-based music. Gentle, percussive layers and short bursts of melody provide the perfect foil for JAW’s hazy, dream-like vocal flow to take centre stage to lucidly mesmeric effect. Beautifully balanced and squarely aimed at the dance floor, it’s abstract, prayer-like composition also means it has legs away from the club too, reinforcing Ajami’s ability to produce records that connect in both different ways and crucially, spaces.

Backed up by a pair of remixes from revered beatmakers dOP – one a deeper, tech-leaning vocal rework and the other a stomping, melody-laced instrumental dub – ‘Night Prayer’ represents some of Rashid Ajami’s best work yet, adding to a growing discography that already includes releases on Anjunadeep, Cajual, Kittball and Armada.

Phil Kieran & White Noise Sound – Never Believed (Maya Jane Coles Remix)

Phil Kieran & White Noise Sound’s “Never Believed” receives the remix treatment from one of deep house’s finest emerging talents, Maya Jane Coles. Having shown impeccable work on remixes like Florence & The Machine’s “Spectrum” and Rashid Ajami’s “Rule The World,” Coles is no stranger in fitting her deep and melodic sound around an indie track. With her remix to “Never Believed,” Maya uses a wonky bass line accompanied by the original’s unaltered vocal to serve up a soulful groove that will lock you in and refuse to let go.

Rashid Ajami – Rule The World (Maya Jane Coles Remix)

Fresh off her remix to Florence and the Machine’s “Spectrum,” Maya Jane Coles is back with her delicate deep house touch on her latest remix to Rashid Ajami’s “Rule The World.” On this latest work of art, she focuses on the echoing vocals and gentle melody to form a slow, sultry progression around a hypnotizing mellow groove. With productions like these, Maya is moving past the guise of an up-and-comer and becoming more of a stand out act. Her pattern of persistent hit making has cast a certain buzz that has us anxious for her set at this year’s Electric Zoo festival.
