Tiesto drives awareness and makes a significant contribution to the global fund to fight AIDS

Mobilizing the global dance community around the AIDS fight, World AIDS Day 2012 saw electronic dance music pioneer, Tiësto, release the first DANCE (RED), SAVE LIVES compilation album. Produced by Musical Freedom in collaboration with (RED) and Recreation Worldwide, the album went to #1 on the iTunes dance charts in 33 countries, and set a new precedent for dance music artists supporting the work of The Global Fund to fight AIDS.

So far, sales of the 2012 DANCE (RED), SAVE LIVES album – along with a personal donation from Tiësto as part of the social media component of the campaign – have contributed $500,000 for The Global Fund; money which is used to finance programs which provide prevention, treatment, counseling, HIV testing and care services.

“I’m thrilled that the dance community has come together to raise awareness and provide a significant contribution to the fight against AIDS. Working on DANCE (RED), SAVE LIVES and helping to spread its message has been an honor and I’m very proud of the money that we have raised,” Tiësto says.

“As we prepare to launch this year’s World AIDS Day campaign, we cannot express enough gratitude to Tiësto for helping to make DANCE (RED), SAVE LIVES such a perfect way for young people to engage in the goal to deliver an AIDS free generation,” said Deborah Dugan, CEO, (RED).

For World AIDS Day 2013, (RED) and Recreation Worldwide will release a new compilation album, DANCE (RED), SAVE LIVES2, featuring an exclusive remix of Tiësto’s “Love and Run” alongside other leading dance music artists, with further details to be announced in early November.

Tommy Trash – “Monkey In Love” (Size Records)

THUMP’s latest video for Australian electro-house giant Tommy Trash features a hot girl, a rogue monkey, and a hot girl getting felt up by a rogue monkey. What more do you need?! How about crazy club shots, cute animation, and a gigantic beat that bangs in the clubs. Not since Flat Eric has dance music had a puppet this endearing… and naughty.

The video for ‘Monkey in Love’ picks up where Tommy’s ‘Monkey See Monkey Do’ video left off. Having left his home planet of junk, inspired by Tommy’s music, Kal the Monkey finds himself crash landing on earth. Naturally, the first place he wants to go is a club where he can hear the music he’s traveled across the galaxy for, but on his way he comes across one of Earth’s other great temptations – the female species!

The ‘Monkey in Love’ video is the second in a two part video collaboration between Tommy Trash and Phil Hodges of the Jim Henson Company.

Stay tuned for a “making of” video coming soon.

“Monkey In Love” is out July 22 on Size Records:
