Crywolf just premiered “Slow Burn,” the fourth and final single off his forthcoming album, Cataclasm. Which will finally debut on November 20th, woo!! I hope you are just as excited for Cataclasm as I am. While I love the whole project, I must come clean that “Slow Burn” is truly my all time favorite. The soaring falsettos and the dark synths Crywolf uses in “Slow Burn” makes a perfect placement for Halloween and the Day of the Dead.

Would love your continuous support please! As always, I would absolutely love a review or maybe even have the song featured in something like “Best Halloween Songs” — whatever is best fit :)

[Tuesday November 3rd] This time of year, that fleeting period at the golden end of the warm season, is considered to be when the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead is at its thinnest. One can almost feel it in the air; the sky darkens, the air becomes crisp, and the lingering presence of spirits is almost palpable. This sensation of feeling haunted – of carrying the weight of someone’s absence once they’re gone – seeps through the entirety of “Slow Burn,” the fourth single off of Crywolf’s highly anticipated debut album, Cataclasm. Over the course of these past four releases, long-time fans and new listeners alike have watched Phillips grow and evolve as he continues to make his departure from the world of EDM.

With an R&B influence that more than borders on sensual, this final glimpse into Cataclasm is thick and dark, kept afloat by Phillips’ soaring falsettos and infectious melodies. “Slow Burn” highlights the darker, more sinister side of Crywolf, while touching on his flair for nostalgia and romance. With foreboding synths and understated percussion, the song puts Phillips’ vocal and melodic prowess front and center; confirming his status as a true triple threat – producer, vocalist, and lyricist. Though Crywolf tracks tend to be structurally avant-garde – forsaking typical pop layouts for constantly evolving ones – purposefully crafted compositions like this one make it clear that he has the skills to hang with the best of pop artists when he so chooses. “Slow Burn” is the fourth and final installation before Cataclasm is released in full on November 20th. The pre-order for Cataclasm is available on iTunes, and you can click here to share “Slow Burn” now.
