German DJ/producer Tocadisco heads to Toolroom Records to release his power-packed double header of “The Groove” and “The Clamp.” A veteran of dance music in every sense, Tocadisco brings his trademark dance-savy sound to his next efforts, even darker than we remember from March’s “That Miami Track.” While remaining out of mainstream spotlight, Tocadisco continues to produce dance floor killers and please club-goers like he has done for over 15 years. Get a sense of his original flavor and listen to his new tracks below the jump.
Flashmob – Need In Me (Original Mix)
Flashmob’s huge summer single “Need In Me” has just been released on Beatport. We were really excited about the preview, and are glad to say the full original mix has lived up to expectations. Already named an Essential New Tune by Pete Tong, we are expecting big things for this track. “Need In Me” is a nice change from more intense anthemic house and is the perfect chill daytime track. Look to be hearing this a lot during the next few months.
Firebeatz & JoeySuki – Reckless (Original Mix)
Dutch producers Firebeatz and JoeySuki teamed up to release their latest effort, “Reckless,” on Spinnin’ Records yesterday. “Reckless” — a follow-up to their respective hits, “Miniman” and “Kiwistick” – offers a melodic synth break and pulsing electro bassline, which has already attracted support from the likes of Afrojack and Sander van Doorn. Head over to Beatport to purchase the track and keep an eye out for for the two DJs as they continue to make names for themselves.
Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes – Here We Go
Played during Swedish House Mafia’s closing set at Coachella, Facebook and Twitter convos confirm that ‘Here We Go’ is the new track from Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes, coming out on Axwell’s label Axtone.
Already in a few short months Hard Rock Sofa and Swanky Tunes have been making a big splash, releasing collaborations and group productions that are living on Beatport charts and lauded compilations. They are rising from the east as the Russian mafia of house and 2012 looks to only get bigger with news of the ‘Here We Go’ release.
Wolfgang Gartner – Redline (Original Mix)
Wolfgang Gartner recently collaborated with Tiesto on “We Own The Night” for his Club Life Miami compilation, and now he is back with a new track all his own. It looks like some of Tiesto’s influence may have rubbed off on Wolfgang, whose new track “Redline” is a departure from past productions. The new offering is uncharacteristically melodic for a Gartner track, with substantial synth sounds and relatively mellow electro elements. We like the melody and the build a lot, and it shows Wolfgang’s ability to experiment with different types of sounds. It feels like the kind of track that would benefit from an acapella immensely, so we’re excited to see what sorts of combinations DJs can come up with. It’s available now on Ultra Records.
St. Lucia – Closer Than This (Viceroy Remix)
Today I have another fresh glass of summer vibes from Viceroy, the amazing producer / DJ from the town of San Francisco. Every track he manages to get across that feel good summer vibes, this time with an indie kick. He remixes St. Lucia’s “Closer Than This”, and the vocals mixed with Viceroy’s feel good style is a combination I can’t stop listening to. It’s hard to not smile and listen to this track. Also included is his latest HUGE original track featuring WhiteNoize. It’s an amazing summer anthem feel good track that captures Viceroy’s amazing remix vibe. This song is purchase only, through iTunes and Beatport, defintely worth it.
Steve Lawler – Venerate
What could be considered a masterful production, ‘Venerate’, is yet another testament to how great of a producer Steve Lawler is. Released on German label, Upon You Records, this track is a percussion lovers dream. Featuring an array of traditional house congos and bongo sounds rolling rhythmically throughout the track, it will be hard for anyone to remain idle when hearing this tune. Be sure to catch the ViVa Music boss when he plays at Dekalb Market (Brooklyn) on May 12th.
Michael Calfan – Mozaik (Original Mix)
After “Resurrection” was remixed by Axwell and boost onto the progressive house scene, the bar was set high for Michael Calfan’s second original production. “Mozaik” is a big room track, but not in the same way as his previous smash hit. It starts out with gentle melodic undertones that quickly fill in and become a song you can instantly begin bopping along to. The drop isn’t quite as big as “Resurrection,” but we heard some similar sounds as the aforementioned track and we’re liking Calfan’s unique sound. It’ll be interesting to see if the track gets picked up by the same names who propelled him into the limelight just a short while ago, but pair it with the right vocal and it just might happen. Check out the cool video preview below.
Jetpack Jones – Be Alone ft. Cliff Savage
Jetpack picks up highschool pal Cliff Savage to hop on the track with him, and GeekSquad handles the beat. But the highlight of the song is easily Jetpack’s verse. I won’t say any more, and I’ll leave you to worship this track for yourself. Although I would reccommend liking Jetpack Jones’ facebook page below to stay updated on his ever evolving career.
