Break Science – Flocyde (Florence and the Machine & The Pharcyde)

Today I’ve got another great track fit for bringing in summer.. It features vocals from Florence and the Machine, and sampled beat from Pharcyde, all mashed and remixed together by Break Science with their added electronic flavor. The upbeat vibe filled with just enough bass is the perfect track to listen to at all times of the day. Having a live drummer and keyboardist just adds a different warmth to the track.  Break Science is the electronic group signed to Pretty Lights Music who dropped the free album The Monolith Code. Here’s a quote from the group about the track

“The melody is a key element that we like to infuse into our brand of electronic music. After hearing this song by Florence and the Machine, we felt the vocal line evokes an emotion which soars above the hard dance floor drums and future synths we eventually combined with it. We added a touch of the Pharcyde to give the listener another perspective on the tune and create a mashup of two very different yet familiar pieces of music. Hope y’all dig it!”

Turn up this track, and enjoy!

Jetpack Jones – Be Alone ft. Cliff Savage

Jetpack picks up highschool pal Cliff Savage to hop on the track with him, and GeekSquad handles the beat. But the highlight of the song is easily Jetpack’s verse. I won’t say any more, and I’ll leave you to worship this track for yourself. Although I would reccommend liking Jetpack Jones’ facebook page below to stay updated on his ever evolving career.

Jaz von D – Drive EP

Dutch DJ Jaz von D has packaged his next two singles together for his Drive EP, which has been released on Oxygen Records. The title track, “Drive,” begins with a progressive melody and sharp kicks, only to drop into heavy distorted bass as the track does a full rotation. The other, “Introfuse,” features similar progression only it builds up with synths for a far less abrupt crash. Jaz von D’s sound is something fresh for fans of any genre, so listen to the EP and find the Beatport link below the break.

DJ Marky & S.P.Y. – Last Night / Love Affair

Emerging from the Amazon are two well established names aimed at becoming one of the most prestigious partnerships in Jungle music. These two Brazilian boys, DJ Marky & S.P.Y., are no strangers to the 170+ flavor of EDM. Both artists have extensive and dynamic track catalogs going back more than a decade, and the amalgamation of their styles has lead to the birth some soothing sounds. Their latest release is a perfect example.. This is the type of music I put on to keep me motivated during a long day at work. Its nice, energetic and full of flavor.

Milo & Otis – Friendly City (Original Mix)

We like to spend our Sunday afternoons hungover — scouring the far corners of the internet to find the oft-overlooked but still incredibly awesome tracks from under-exposed artists. Today we have “Friendly City” from the moombahton duo Milo & Otis. These two take the familiar sample made famous by Justice on “We Are Your Friends” and warp it to fit their unique 120 BPM, dubby moombahton style. “Friendly City” is Dillon Francis-esque, complete with squealing synths, off-tempo kicks, high-pitched, 8-bit arpeggios and a massive wobble drop. Check out the rest of their Soundcloud for more moombahton goodness – their original “Luck” is exceptional.

Mark E – Oranges

Birmingham, UK producer Mark E knows a thing or two about setting a mood. Raised on Madchester raves (his first record was Bizarre Inc’s “Playing With Knives,” we’re told) and Frankie Knuckles, it’s no surprise that Mark E’s sound can be playful and deliciously deep, as evidenced by the tracks that made up last year’s Stone Breaker on Spectral Sound. “Oranges,” which was released as a single exclusively on Beatport yesterday, is one such tune that unapologetically hues toward the deep end.

Maor Levi – Won’t Say No

Following his recent remix of Anjunabeats classic “Alba” by Super8, our trusted Maor Levi returns with a solo single that combines two contrasting sounds.

Elegant piano vibes and deep grooves come together on “Won’t Say No”, a hypnotic deep trancer with an ethereal, sweeping breakdown that gives way to a surge of tech rhythms on the drop.

A fan’s favourite from its appearance on Above & Beyond’s TATW a few years back, the quirky “Life Inside A Cube” finally gets a release; a blend of Balearic progressive and tech flavours.

AKS – Round & Round

AKS (Addicted Kru Sound) is a six headed live dubstep/drum & bass band hailing from Belgium. My first exposure to AKS came nearly two years ago, when Laidback Luke seemingly rewired the collective brain of Los Angeles by dropping their Steed Lord remix on the typically Progressive House leaning Main Stage inside the Coliseum at Electric Daisy Carnival 2010.

Keep an eye out for AKS and their special take on bass music and unique live show as they continue to move forward! Read on after the jump to find out more about the group and their upcoming EP, out May 21st.

What started as two friends playing records in sweaty basements almost ten years ago, evolved into what is now a six-headed electronic band under the name of AKS; short for “Addicted Kru Sound”. AKS’ recent success is mainly a result of the energy they bring live on stage, but to confirm that AKS is more than “a band that you need to see live” they now present a new five-track EP titled “Out of Control”, available worldwide starting May 21st on Waste Your Weekend Records. Alvaro & The Partysquad – Wataah (Original Mix)

Alvaro and The Partysquad have teamed up in the past to give us summer time hits such as “Lucky Star” and “A Msterdamn.” This time around they bring that Dutch flavor with “Wataah,” which features multiple upbeat bleeps and dance-able drums. This track is also on the ‘darker’ side of things — it eludes to an almost tribal like feel that hasn’t been heard since a few of Chuckie and Mastiksoul collaborations. Keep on the lookout for these two to continue tearing it up in their respective studios — their management team has told us they have a few things up their sleeve.
