Swedish Indie-Pop collective Janice Prix manifest alienation on new EP

“The track is both ominous and elegant, weaving between stunning instrumentals that deliver a sense of hope amongst the heart-breaking topic” THE LINE OF BEST FIT

Indie Rockers Janice Prix assembled in the small industrial town of Trollhättan, Sweden. Despite their passion early on, the local music scene didn’t exactly accept their musical differences: one day, the band arrived at the studio to find fake obituaries of each member’s name nailed to the front door.

From performing at Berlin Music Week to being active in the Swedish Club scene, Janice Prix has successfully established a place for indie-pop within a town traditionally dominated by metal and punk.

With striking vocals, purposeful lyrics and pop sensibility, the song is created from the idea of a mother losing touch with her children. The punchy title track ‘Nobody Would Know’ is from the mother’s perspective, discussing loss, selfishness and childish actions.

It follows her journey to the realisation that it’s too late to make amends and the trust can no longer be restored. The band explains: “The song is based upon stories from within our own families. It’s about lonely people that have no one left to turn to and nowhere to go. They want to talk, but nobody wants to listen. People who have done unforgivable things. We wanted the song to reflect those complicated family relationships.”

Known for creating political statements and deep-seated lyrics, it’s not surprising that Janice Prix is so formidable when their artistic development has been marked by a necessary sacrifice of friendships and non-musical interests on the journey to euphoric accomplishment.

With dark choruses, meaningful lyrics and rapid beats, Janice Prix’s upcoming EP ‘Nobody Would Know’ is set to give us an insight into real life experiences, whether it’s hurt or happiness. Talking about their EP, the band said “these five songs represent us well and give you a glimpse of what to expect from our upcoming debut album. A lot of effort was put into making the lyrics and music revolve around things we feel are truly important. Our ambition was to also mirror this sound-wise by using dark electronic soundscapes together with real strings and instruments in a cinematic blend.”

Madism delivers remix of Luke Potter’s “Healing” on Ultra Music

UK-based singer-songwriter Luke Potter recently released “Healing,” his debut single on Ultra Music. “Healing” is an emotionally evoking track, as the soft instrumentals glaze through the single, giving the track a sentimental touch. Now the original has been given a makeover by Dutch music producer Madism.
Madism adds a touch of energetic pop to his “Healing” remix, making it the perfect remix to hear poolside this summer. The original “Healing” is already a smashing success, as it was added to nine New Music Fridays on Spotify, as well as the New Pop Revolution UK playlist, and featured on Record of the Day.
Madism is best known for his official remixes for artists including superstar Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi, and former X Factor winner James Arthur. His Lewis Capaldi “Someone You Loved” remix spent 7 weeks long at the #1 spot in Spotify’s ‘Massive Pop Remixes’ playlist with 400k followers, while his recent remix for James Arthurs “Falling Like the Stars” still receives daily global radio rotation.
“Healing” is the first of a slew of new singles from Luke Potter. After releasing his first EP ‘One Day’ in 2013, Luke Potter gained significant recognition and acclaim from some of the industry’s finest. 2017 saw the release of his single “Something More,” that has nearly 18 million Spotify plays, and its successor “It’s Easy.”  The latter was written and produced with musical mentor Jorgen Elofsson, who has written alongside legends including Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Paloma Faith and Robyn. Luke’s innate penchant for writing catchy melodies is undeniable, and is proven by who he has written alongside.
Luke has also worked with production legends including Steve Powers, known for his work with McFly and Andrea Bocelli, Eric Rosse who has produced Sara Bareilles, and Ken Caillat, who has worked with Fleetwood Mac and Colbie Caillat. Although Luke’s success has come fairly recently as an artist/writer/producer, it’s built on years of determination and hard work. Luke started writing songs in his teens, before he could even play an instrument, and after teaching himself how to play guitar at 17, Luke began to unlock the full extent of his creative potential.

Dayans delivers the stunning ‘It’s Love’ featuring Dorian Luta

Dayans is a producer who is new on the House Music scene but shows enormous potential. The Italian, based in Grosetto, has burst on to the scene with his new single ‘It’s Love’ featuring Dorian Duta. The energetic track showcases why the producer is causing such a stir within the industry.

From start to finish, the track is abundant with good vibes. The eternal House keyboard alongside powerful, four-to-the-floor beats is classic beyond measure but he manages to add a personal, innovative touch to proceedings. The beautiful, flowing vocals from Duta are the perfect accompaniment to a masterful production. Evocative but all the while happy and invigorating, the song has the potential for big things in the foreseeable future.

Before this release, Dayans has produced some strong remixes, including his own take on Ivan Gough’s ‘In My Mind’. The Electro House banger shows his capability to produce multiple genres, and just how fast his abilities as a producer are evolving.

The track is out now through Valminuta Records. Based in New York, the imprint has released a variety of interesting tracks in its time but Dayans latest release could prove to be one of its biggest yet. The Italian will continue to improve and play shows and before you know it, he will be a household name. Remember where you heard Dayans first!
